my unit was actually on ne 14th street, but their was a fire and my unit was damaged so I had to get some paperwork to sign for the insurance. i believe her name is Monica( I should remember as many times as we've texted?) is super nice and had all the paperwork to sign letting me know what else I would need to include with the claim and was friendly. I will say that you should probably call before you go cuz I didn't try several times before this to get the paperwork but it was closed early or just noone was there. but overall I had no issues with them, I would still rent from them if ever I needed a unit again( mine was a total loss) also with that get the most coverage with the insurnce, it's not much more, but work be worth it.. cuz of course i was one who was like that ain't never gonna happen, you never hear about fires at storage units......well it happens! ... Rented a 10x20 unit at Prairie Lane in DSM and it's been nothing but a hassle. The first night, there was an issue with getting my access code to get passed the gate, and of course by the time I received it, gate hours were over. Got to pay for another day of uhaul and let a full truck sit overnight. Next day is fine, gate code works, got in the unit, it was clean, my lock was there as promised, cool. I'm happy. So now 6 days later, my access is denied and of course the property manager is not in on Wed and Sun nor can anyone help me except property Mgr. My bill is paid, they think I rented another unit and did not pay for it. I explained I have only one unit but still nobody available to help me. What a crock!! So I sit with my car full and unable to access my storage unit that is paid for!!!!! Hopefully I can find a storage unit with a company that let's you access your unit while you are current!!! GRRRR.... ... Read more

DO NOT RECOMMEND - FREQUENT PRICE INCREASES! 42% in 5 months! I started a renting a storage unit from this company back on 8/1/23 for $203.74. 4/1/24 they increased the rent to $254.62, which is 25%, which is absurd in itself. Now we just received the attached notice for 9/1/24 increase to $288.32, which is a total increase of 42% within 5 months... If you're okay with companies taking advantage of you when you're in a difficult situation, and they know it's difficult to move everything out, this storage company is perfect for you then! Their website says "Affordable Storage Units", when in reality, this company is profiteering. I also did the research on per square foot cost, their price increase on 4/1/24 put them at the high end of the market, but not by much. This increase on 9/1/24 will put them well beyond the market creating an unfair profit and knowing it's not easy to leave a storage unit when you're not ready. Time to reach out to the state! ... Frequently Asked Questions

Storage units available at Storage Rentals of America - 3244 NW Prairie Lane include the following amenities: Climate-Controlled, Indoor, Drive-Up Access, Onsite Manager, Contactless Renting, Security Camera, Gate, Parking and First Floor Access. Depending on what you need to put away in storage, you can discover there are some things you absolutely need, so make sure you check with the facility manager that you'll find everything you need on site.

This particular storage facility provides self storage units of different sizes, ranging from 100 to 420 square feet. Space is not an issue! If you have more belongings to store, or simply bulkier items or even vehicles, you should go for larger storage units.

You already know how much stuff you need to put in self storage, so figuring out the unit size you need is the next step. Smaller units such as 5'x5' or 5'x10' spaces can usually be filled with the amount of items you would normally store in a closet: a few chairs and lamps, sports equipment, garden tools and some boxes.

Moving on to larger sizes, imagine the 10'x10' and 10'x15' units as similar to a bedroom or a living room – larger pieces of furniture, sturdier equipment and bicycles can fit here. Finally, a 10'x20' unit has enough space for the contents of a 3-bedroom house, while the larger 10'x30' space easily accommodates the contents of a loaded semi-truck.

Monthly prices for units offered by Storage Rentals of America - 3244 NW Prairie Lane start from $38 and can go up to $167 for larger spaces.

Accessibility and quickness are key when it comes to storage, so drive-up storage units are generally regarded as very convenient. Pull your car right up to your storage space, load, unload, and you're good to go! However, if you're mostly storing temperature-sensitive items, you should rather consider indoor storage units.

Climate-controlled units maintain consistent temperatures and humidity levels all year round, making them perfect for all your sensitive items. Moisture and varying temperatures can damage a whole host of things, and that is why a lot of people choose to use climate-controlled units to store items like wooden furniture, electronics, artwork, documents and photographs, collectibles, antiques, etc. If the belongings you're storing are important to you, you should consider renting a climate-controlled unit.
