Very responsive and caring staff. Units are clean and secure. Property is alway clean and clear. Very convenient for me with living close. Two code needed entrances. Sometimes the main street entrance is too busy to get in and out of so you can go the other to get intro street easily. Office is always staffed within the hours posted. Office is clean and organized. Leadership is very respectful of their customers too. I would recommend. ... Read more

When I started my reservations, I experienced some complications with getting payment secured over the phone (Lauren). I made many calls back due to funds being withdrawn. I was disconnected giving me a sick feeling .. .scammed! Lauren called back, explained the situation and relieved my fears! Fund's settled back into my account. Autumn was so kind as to accept my payment. Ensured me that all was resolve. I appreciate the diligence of these two reps, professionalism, above and beyond customer services. want to give a huge shoutout to Jen — she was kind, patient, and incredibly hardworking. You can tell she truly cares about helping people, even when she’s clearly juggling a lot. Contacted me with the best rates and worked with me to save the size unit that I needed as my move-in date was more than a month away. Jessica was kind and patient and thoroughly explained every aspect regarding fees, rental agreement and every question I had regarding the storage facility itself. I am grateful to have this off of my list of to do’s. I appreciated the time in making it the most cost-effective for me to procure the size storage unit I needed, and the peace of mind to know it will be available upon arrival. ... Read more

Storage Unit Theft: A Free-for-All, No Accountability! If zero stars were an option, that’s exactly what I’d give StorageMart on 53rd. Save yourself the hassle—just throw your stuff in a dumpster. At least then you won’t be paying for nonexistent security while thieves and rodents have their way with your belongings. Within a month of storing my life here during an emergency, my unit was burglarized. The lock was cut, my electronics stolen, and the facility didn’t even bother to notify me. Instead, they replaced the lock without mentioning the break-in. When I returned two months later, I found my unit ransacked, with my belongings destroyed and everything covered in rodent droppings and urine. For a place that denies having a pest problem, the rows of traps say otherwise. The final insult? Filing a claim with their insurance provider, Manhattan Mini Storage Value Customer. Let me save you the trouble—it’s useless. The coverage is a joke, and the people running it are no better. Their robotic, dismissive attitude leaves you feeling like you’re dealing with a bot, not a human being. Compassion, accountability, and responsibility? Forget it. Looking back, I wish I’d just thrown my belongings away and handed the storage fees to someone in need. At least then, the money wouldn’t feel so wasted. If you’re considering this place, don’t. Just throw it all away. You’ll save yourself the frustration and regret I’m living with now. ... Read more

Do not use this facility or company to store your belongings. I’m a local college student and had all my belongings stored here over the summer. My unit was robbed, resulting in a complete loss of everything I owned at an estimated $6,500 value. Not only did this facility fail at keeping my belongings safe, they never notified me of the theft. I had to discover everything I owned was gone the day I moved back for classes, an entire month and a half after the theft occurred. When my family and I were on site, we learned the storage facility had changed the locks on my unit without notification as well. We could see numerous of these facility issued locks on other units, and the attendee informed us multiple units were victims of the theft. Additionally, the facility would not answer my calls and emails after the theft as I attempted to gain necessary paperwork and information for the police report. They tried to assure my family that their value coverage insurance would make up for the loss, but this was untrue. Not only did they only grant me half of the possible insurance coverage despite plenty of evidence demonstrating the financial loss, their claims adjuster accused me of altering the police report (which is illegal, and Davenport PD proved was a false claim) and would not continue with my case for weeks. My privacy violated by this theft, but StorageMart made it exponentially worse with their egregiously unprofessional and useless response. Their very own call center advised me to seek legal representation because even they could not control this location. If you want your belongings safe, do not store them here. ... Read more

Frequently Asked Questions

Storage units available at StorageMart - 575 East 53rd Street include the following amenities: Climate-Controlled, Indoor, Drive-Up Access, Retail Available, Onsite Manager, Contactless Renting, Security Camera, Gate, Parking, Credit Cards Accepted and Online Payment. Depending on what you need to put away in storage, you can discover there are some things you absolutely need, so make sure you check with the facility manager that you'll find everything you need on site.

This particular storage facility provides self storage units of different sizes, ranging from 25 to 300 square feet. Space is not an issue! If you have more belongings to store, or simply bulkier items or even vehicles, you should go for larger storage units.

You already know how much stuff you need to put in self storage, so figuring out the unit size you need is the next step. Smaller units such as 5'x5' or 5'x10' spaces can usually be filled with the amount of items you would normally store in a closet: a few chairs and lamps, sports equipment, garden tools and some boxes.

Moving on to larger sizes, imagine the 10'x10' and 10'x15' units as similar to a bedroom or a living room – larger pieces of furniture, sturdier equipment and bicycles can fit here. Finally, a 10'x20' unit has enough space for the contents of a 3-bedroom house, while the larger 10'x30' space easily accommodates the contents of a loaded semi-truck.

Monthly prices for units offered by StorageMart - 575 East 53rd Street start from $44 and can go up to $162 for larger spaces.

Accessibility and quickness are key when it comes to storage, so drive-up storage units are generally regarded as very convenient. Pull your car right up to your storage space, load, unload, and you're good to go! However, if you're mostly storing temperature-sensitive items, you should rather consider indoor storage units.

Climate-controlled units maintain consistent temperatures and humidity levels all year round, making them perfect for all your sensitive items. Moisture and varying temperatures can damage a whole host of things, and that is why a lot of people choose to use climate-controlled units to store items like wooden furniture, electronics, artwork, documents and photographs, collectibles, antiques, etc. If the belongings you're storing are important to you, you should consider renting a climate-controlled unit.
