Thank you so much Hawaii Self Storage. Storing here has been great! Maria was super helpful and friendly throughout this process especially when I had to move to a bigger unit. It was also thoughtful of her to give me a call when she noticed I didn't properly lock my unit. ... Read more

I been with this storage for about a year now and I cannot say enough about this company. The storage is clean, bright and safe. My space is REALLY tall and the elevators can fit all my stuff. They have wagons that we can use even when the office is closed. The price is a little more than the other company's but the extra $5 makes up for the better service. The aunties in the office knew what space I needed just by me telling them what I have and they are so funny. Auntie E showed me 2 units and gave me how much its going to be. When I came back Auntie Phyllis did all my paperwork while Auntie Kanoe distracted my son so I could finish. They have people working at night so they always have someone we can talk to if we have a problem and someone is there to watch and make sure nobody making trouble. I cannot stress enough that Its CLEAN!!!!!!! If you looking for a storage in Tech Park, go see Hawaii Self Storage. ... Read more

Frequently Asked Questions

Storage units available at Hawai‘i Self Storage - 233 Akamainui Street include the following amenities: Climate-Controlled, Indoor, Drive-Up Access, Retail Available, Onsite Manager, Security Camera, Gate, Parking, Credit Cards Accepted, Multi-Level Storage and Online Payment. Depending on what you need to put away in storage, you can discover there are some things you absolutely need, so make sure you check with the facility manager that you'll find everything you need on site.

This particular storage facility provides self storage units of different sizes, ranging from 25 to 200 square feet. Space is not an issue! If you have more belongings to store, or simply bulkier items or even vehicles, you should go for larger storage units.

You already know how much stuff you need to put in self storage, so figuring out the unit size you need is the next step. Smaller units such as 5'x5' or 5'x10' spaces can usually be filled with the amount of items you would normally store in a closet: a few chairs and lamps, sports equipment, garden tools and some boxes.

Moving on to larger sizes, imagine the 10'x10' and 10'x15' units as similar to a bedroom or a living room – larger pieces of furniture, sturdier equipment and bicycles can fit here. Finally, a 10'x20' unit has enough space for the contents of a 3-bedroom house, while the larger 10'x30' space easily accommodates the contents of a loaded semi-truck.

Monthly prices for units offered by Hawai‘i Self Storage - 233 Akamainui Street start from $50 and can go up to $550 for larger spaces.

Accessibility and quickness are key when it comes to storage, so drive-up storage units are generally regarded as very convenient. Pull your car right up to your storage space, load, unload, and you're good to go! However, if you're mostly storing temperature-sensitive items, you should rather consider indoor storage units.

Climate-controlled units maintain consistent temperatures and humidity levels all year round, making them perfect for all your sensitive items. Moisture and varying temperatures can damage a whole host of things, and that is why a lot of people choose to use climate-controlled units to store items like wooden furniture, electronics, artwork, documents and photographs, collectibles, antiques, etc. If the belongings you're storing are important to you, you should consider renting a climate-controlled unit.
