Read some helpful reviews of Hawai-i Self Storage at 488 Kamokila Blvd, shared by real renters with genuine experiences and honest opinions.

Edit: I have to change my review to five stars, because the staff have been wonderful in getting everything fixed?? There was an emergency situation that I didn't know until later the next day, but it made total sense with what happened and how I wasn't able to get a response. Things happen and we're human, and Hawai'i Self Storage definitely stepped up and made things right?????? Great customer service- when the day staff is in office.... -Please make sure you put your lock on the same day you purchase your unit! They will place a red lock on your unit, even if you paid! -There is a night staff, but they don't answer the phone. It's supposed to be 24/7, but it's a gamble. -The day staff was extremely helpful, but after hours is terrible. -Check your unit before taking your items out of your car/moving van! It's a real pain to having to reload everything after :( . - Pretty upset I'm out of $100 +, but I probably will cancel so I can find a storage facility that can accommodate my family. I wish someone one have called/emailed me about the lock before it being placed on my unit, I would have rushed back to put one on! - While my experience with Hawaii Self-Storage may have been a rare one, I'm hoping that someone doesn't end up in my situation. So please, make sure you answer any and all questions before signing an agreement! ... Read more

Honestly, the best place and so much better than any others storage companies I have had before. Not only convenient, but the staff here is super amazing and friendly. Having to store things is a hassle and a lot of times frustrating due to circumstances of life. But the people here are warm, fun and friendly and so very helpful. I have to give a special shout-out to Tammy, and especially to Huanani, the site manager. She is "da bomb" and knows how to make it happen and go the extra mile. Totally happy with the experience here. Highly recommend going here and not messing around, do it right the first time and come here for your storage needs! ... Read more

Frequently Asked Questions

Storage units available at Hawai-i Self Storage - 488 Kamokila Blvd include the following amenities: Climate-Controlled, Indoor, Drive-Up Access, Retail Available, Onsite Manager, Security Camera, Parking, Credit Cards Accepted, Multi-Level Storage and Online Payment. Depending on what you need to put away in storage, you can discover there are some things you absolutely need, so make sure you check with the facility manager that you'll find everything you need on site.

This particular storage facility provides self storage units of different sizes, ranging from 20 to 200 square feet. Space is not an issue! If you have more belongings to store, or simply bulkier items or even vehicles, you should go for larger storage units.

You already know how much stuff you need to put in self storage, so figuring out the unit size you need is the next step. Smaller units such as 5'x5' or 5'x10' spaces can usually be filled with the amount of items you would normally store in a closet: a few chairs and lamps, sports equipment, garden tools and some boxes.

Moving on to larger sizes, imagine the 10'x10' and 10'x15' units as similar to a bedroom or a living room – larger pieces of furniture, sturdier equipment and bicycles can fit here. Finally, a 10'x20' unit has enough space for the contents of a 3-bedroom house, while the larger 10'x30' space easily accommodates the contents of a loaded semi-truck.

Monthly prices for units offered by Hawai-i Self Storage - 488 Kamokila Blvd start from $50 and can go up to $1,000 for larger spaces.

Accessibility and quickness are key when it comes to storage, so drive-up storage units are generally regarded as very convenient. Pull your car right up to your storage space, load, unload, and you're good to go! However, if you're mostly storing temperature-sensitive items, you should rather consider indoor storage units.

Climate-controlled units maintain consistent temperatures and humidity levels all year round, making them perfect for all your sensitive items. Moisture and varying temperatures can damage a whole host of things, and that is why a lot of people choose to use climate-controlled units to store items like wooden furniture, electronics, artwork, documents and photographs, collectibles, antiques, etc. If the belongings you're storing are important to you, you should consider renting a climate-controlled unit.
