Rustin at the front is awesome ! I had horrible experience with extra space storage in Hawai’i Kai . Got stuck in their elevator while trying to bring my stuff in towards close . None of the buttons worked even after being prompted by the support folks using the call button. Went looking for other 24 hour access locations with management support for emergencies after hours at U-Haul and Extra Space Storage , none of them have both of those . None have management support after hours for emergencies (at least they didn’t say this - the reps I talked to attempted to blame me for the equipment safety issue since I came close to close ). Rustin got my transaction finished to my unit and managed to listen to all my grievances with neutral , professional response within a short time . It’s hard to find honest management that can be transparent and take accountability . He gained my confidence in storing my things very quickly within my first visit. A call that I got from them since I made a same day reservation was positive and friendly welcoming me in. Spent $900 today , pricey but worth it for my move with competent staff ! Give him a raise ! (I heard he’s getting promoted , so good job being ahead on the pay raise - but yall better keep showing him appreciation! ?????????? As someone who’s from here, I just wanted a storage spot that was simple, safe, and drama-free and Kaimuki Storage really delivered. The first thing I noticed was how clean everything is. You can tell they actually care about the space and keep it well maintained, which isn’t always the case with storage places. It feels organized, respectful, and not like one of those spots where people are hanging around or turning it into a homeless pit stop. They’re family-owned, and everyone is genuinely nice and easy to talk to. Communication goes a long way with them. If you’re upfront and respectful, they’re the same right back. That kind of mutual respect is big for me. The hours are a little limited, but honestly, I don’t mind. It keeps things more secure and low-key, and you don’t have random people coming in and out all day. Paris is truly a lifesaver for this company... she was able to get me into the last unit in the size and location I needed, and with satisfactory explaination of the rental policy and fees. She answered every inquiry I had with a smile, without feeling rushed (it was already past the end of her shift, and was dealing with a migraine). She was still just as courteous and efficient until I walked out the door 10-15 minutes later. She's the gold- standard for making happy customers ?? This location deserves one-star due to my interaction with the phone service rep designated for the Kahala location. I say phone because no one was there when I appeared in-person, despite showing up at noon during the listed business hours. The service rep on the phone stated if you’re looking to reserve a unit, you MUST book ahead of time online first. However, this conflicts with what I am being told by other service reps at locations in Kapiolani and Dillingham. Every service rep told me that if I made a reservation online, then I am ONLY locking in the “online rate”, NOT the locker / storage unit itself. The locker / storage unit would be assigned to me randomly. We want to see the units in-person to get a look-and-feel of the available units and facility before making a commitment. Overall, the customer service over the phone was VERY passive and unhelpful. I kept getting cut off and referred to further services online, while trying to get my name and phone number.
