I recently rented a 5’x5’ unit at Extra Space Storage on Queens St, and I had a really great experience. The first unit I was assigned had a vent at the top that cut into the space a bit, which wasn’t ideal. I mentioned it to James, and he immediately took care of it.
He made switching to another unit super easy and even waived the transfer fee without me having to push for it. The whole process was smooth and stress-free.

We needed to find a new storage unit nearby with good prices, so we visited a few different places that day. One was slightly cheaper, but the customer service and how genuinely helpful everyone was made it an easy choice to go with Extra Space Storage. We were also able to pay for 24 months upfront to lock in a great rate, which is extremely helpful for a nonprofit.
The office is clean and the staff is truly great. The storage building is well ventilated and the AC is strong, which is definitely a plus. There are three loading stalls right in front of the elevator, which makes moving things in and out really convenient. They also provide carts which are located right before the elevators as well. The parking lot is a bit small, but we have never had trouble finding a spot.

just checked into this storage unit, and it’s honestly the nicest facility I’ve ever been to. The entire place is incredibly clean, modern, and truly state-of-the-art. Leo was great! Good energy and great communication. We spoke about what I wanted to storage for and he was able to provide me with the best unit for what I wanted to do at the best price. I got really lucky because the unit I got was maybe a design flaw.. but it was the only one at the facility that had more space but cost the same amount.
The reason I’m giving 3 stars is because I have a moving company and transferred my unit to one of my customers that needed it. 3 months later it turns out I was being billed for the unit still, which was clearly supposed to be switched. We both filled out a form and my customer gave his credit card info to the person handling the unit transfer. I spent a few moments on the phone being sent back and for between their customer service saying to call the store location, then location telling me to call customer service.. it was only when Leo got on the line was I able to figure out what happened with the unit. ... When we first moved our belongings into this facility in November after our move to Oahu I would have given it five stars. The facility was new, clean and the staff very helpful. However, things have gone downhill and fast. There are homeless people using the upper units for storage but they hang out there in them for long periods of time. I have personally witnessed this and reported it to management, was told they would look into it and that they had an idea who they were, but we never received any feedback. Then we came another time and had broken glass and trash in front of our unit clearly dropped from the unit above us, the employee I spoke to said they would get it cleaned up and they did but still no answer on the homeless people renting units! Both of their huge front and rear entry doors are now damaged, the back one has been permanently closed for at least two months and now the front one is damaged too. Today (a Sunday) we showed up to spend some time rearranging our storage and to retrieve items we NEEDED and the entire facility is locked up the gate is not working, no keypad access and there is a temporary fence blocking entrance with a notice that units can be accessed during office hours only. WE DID NOT RECEIVE ANY ADVANCE NOTICE of this closure. There was another tenant there with the same issue, a car full of stuff and can't get in to their unit. We should have been notified by email or text of this issue. We also will be asking for a reduced monthly rate if we can't access our unit other than office hours. I would never rent here again unless these issues are solved. I will update this review if that happens. ... Read more
