At the Hog Mountain Rd, Watkinsville GA facility - After using a unit for a few months an electrical cable fell into the rolling metal door and caused the door to bind and become almost impossible to open or close. Also, the side of the metal door was in contact with the electrical cable and possibly an electrocution hazard if it cut into a plastic cable. I informed the property manager and she went with me to the unit to have a look and promised to have someone come and look at it. She said it would probably be up to a week before anyone could get there. Actually, after two months no one had been out to look. I didn’t have access to the unit for at least two months and finally had to have it fixed myself. For my inconvenience, the company discounted $50 total off of $210. I emailed the regional manager three times about this situation and got no response. I stopped my automatic bank payment to try to get their attention, and after a payment was one week late, I was denied access to the unit. So, they’re real quick to want your money, but not real quick to solve customer problems. And the unit was full of brown widow spiders (poisonous). ... Read more

The best storage rental company! Great service from the staff, no hassles, and they seem to stay on top of things from a security standpoint and that's always a plus!! 10/10 definitely would recommend! And I think the staff member's name is Camy. Very helpful young lady! ... Read more

I could say so many good things about this storage facility. My entire rental process was so easy, the location is very convenient and Cami was incredibly helpful when I had a question pop up. Zero issues with my move-in and I can't imagine a smoother storage solution. I love the amenities and the security features leave me feeling that I can rest easy knowing my belongings are packed up safe and tight. Thanks again to Cami for all of her help! ... Read more

1. When I arrived, there were moths in my unit and in the whole section of the climate controlled unit- affecting all units. The walls in the unit are open near the ceiling. They said they will have them sprayed by their pesticide company and offered me moth traps - thanks to Donna and Cheryl (staff at office). If you understand moths, they don’t disappear easily and it takes multiple treatments. Cloth moths will destroy your clothes and upholstery. I have lots of pictures I sent them. 2. The door to unit does not stay closed unless you push it tight. Thus not truely climate / humidity controlled unit. They didn’t fix this- instead placed a note on the door to close it tight. The door latch does not stay engaged each time- gets stuck from the previous use of duct tape. They removed some of the adhesive but It should have been replaced. 3. When I informed the manager, Dwayne, of the moths, he said I told the front office that I brought the moths to the unit. This was an outright lie and if it was true, why would I admit to it? He also said I never emailed my declaration page from homeowners insurance to them as I was asking for the extra insurance fee be removed. When I told him that I emailed it to the front office in person and she said she had received it, he changed his tune after undeniable proof. and with much hesitation he refunded the fee and removed future ones. 4. Then the most shocking thing yet after informing him about the moths, the door and the fee — he said I could leave the unit now. He was going to kick us out. I can’t remember if he even offered a refund or not. He won the reward for being the rudest person in customer service in my life. When you have your stuff in a unit, you are kinda stuck with their rules and they know it, but we moved out a month later and will not go back. ... Read more

Frequently Asked Questions

Storage units available at Storage Rentals of America - 1711 Hog Mountain Road include the following amenities: Climate-Controlled, Indoor, Drive-Up Access, Retail Available, Onsite Manager, Contactless Renting, Security Camera, Gate, Parking, First Floor Access, Online Payment and RV Storage. Depending on what you need to put away in storage, you can discover there are some things you absolutely need, so make sure you check with the facility manager that you'll find everything you need on site.

This particular storage facility provides self storage units of different sizes, ranging from 50 to 300 square feet. Space is not an issue! If you have more belongings to store, or simply bulkier items or even vehicles, you should go for larger storage units.

You already know how much stuff you need to put in self storage, so figuring out the unit size you need is the next step. Smaller units such as 5'x5' or 5'x10' spaces can usually be filled with the amount of items you would normally store in a closet: a few chairs and lamps, sports equipment, garden tools and some boxes.

Moving on to larger sizes, imagine the 10'x10' and 10'x15' units as similar to a bedroom or a living room – larger pieces of furniture, sturdier equipment and bicycles can fit here. Finally, a 10'x20' unit has enough space for the contents of a 3-bedroom house, while the larger 10'x30' space easily accommodates the contents of a loaded semi-truck.

Monthly prices for units offered by Storage Rentals of America - 1711 Hog Mountain Road start from $45 and can go up to $300 for larger spaces.

Accessibility and quickness are key when it comes to storage, so drive-up storage units are generally regarded as very convenient. Pull your car right up to your storage space, load, unload, and you're good to go! However, if you're mostly storing temperature-sensitive items, you should rather consider indoor storage units.

Climate-controlled units maintain consistent temperatures and humidity levels all year round, making them perfect for all your sensitive items. Moisture and varying temperatures can damage a whole host of things, and that is why a lot of people choose to use climate-controlled units to store items like wooden furniture, electronics, artwork, documents and photographs, collectibles, antiques, etc. If the belongings you're storing are important to you, you should consider renting a climate-controlled unit.
