I had a great experience at Midgard Self Storage – Vinings! I reached out through their website and Mike responded by text almost immediately. He was friendly, informative, and helped me figure out exactly what I needed in terms of unit size, pricing, insurance, and discounts. Christina stepped in to help me wrap things up and got me into the unit the same day. The facility is extremely clean, the team is knowledgeable and kind, and I appreciated the flexible access hours—with the option to upgrade to 24-hour access for just $10 more. Highly recommend! ... This is not a safe place for your stuff. The management is awful and inept, and their policies are unethical. First, your stuff is not safe here. On two separate occasions, I went to get stuff out of my unit only to find the front door to the building (where you can access all the units from) broken wide open. In the first occasion, I could not even get in touch anyone who works there because it was a holiday (despite them advertising a 24/7 “emergency” line). So, I wound up having to call the police and wait there myself for them to clear the building before I went in. No one from the company reached out that day, despite me leaving several messages on their emergency line. After all of this happened, the only explanation I ever got from management (days later, mind you) was “it was a holiday” and now that they are back at work, they will get it fixed. It remained broken and open to the public for DAYS. This ties into my next point — there is no longer a live person there. They might occasionally have maintenance staff show up, but if you walk into the “office,” it is just a screen where an employee in another state hops on Zoom to talk to you. So, if there is something wrong with the building, they just say “sorry, we’ll get someone soon.” As an aside, around this same time, I tried renting a uHaul truck from this same location and ran into a similar issue because of this stupid screen setup. In short, a key was missing from their automated pickup area. The employee in the screen said he knew where the key was, but could not give me the access code to the different lockbox. So, because there wasn’t anyone on-site who could take 30 seconds to open the correct box, my plans with a uHaul that day were trashed. I couldn’t access the truck, and the only solution he had to offer was to send me to a different location across the city at 5pm in Atlanta. That’s not a thing. Last, don’t be deceived by their typically lower-than-market rates that they advertise. They will almost immediately begin raising that rate if you’re a monthly payer. While increased rental rates over time are somewhat expected, I had my unit roughly 16 months, and over that time they nearly DOUBLED my rental rate. It started at $190 and finished at $375. Again, over just 16 months. On top of this, in that time they also implemented a new “lock rental” policy that required you to rent their lock and pay for it as an added fee. If you call management to discuss any of this, they will not help; largely because it seems that they have literally no authority (so why are they called “managers”?). They do not care about your business, and they will not lift a finger to help you with any of the very real complaints or issues you might have with their facility or practices. ... Read more

I DO NOT recommend you rent at this facility. The newer management continues to raise prices without any upgrades to the building and they are inflexible. Do not waist the money. At one point I could not even access the unit with my personal code and had to use another code provided by the company. Stay away. ... Read more

Had my UHaul booked for a Saturday, and arrived here to no employees. Its all virtual, and had to call a Virtual Manager 3 times due to issues checking-in. On top of that there was not enough furniture pads or a furniture dolly available this day compared to what I reserved online, but I got charged in the end anyways for it at vehicle return time-Even though the 3rd virtual manager correctly did the contract based on what he could see in the lobby available behind me. Additionally, every time you call a virtual manager its a different person, so you have to explain the situation all over again and they simply say "Call back if you have trouble," but then when you do its someone else. Check-In took 20-25 minutes because i kept having to call back and reexplain, then the agent says "Call back if you need anything," and hangs up. Worst check-in and vehicle return experience I have had despite renting a UHaul many times over the years. ... Read more

Frequently Asked Questions

Storage units available at Midgard Self Storage - 2909 Log Cabin Drive SE include the following amenities: Climate-Controlled, Indoor, 24 hour access, Drive-Up Access, Retail Available, Onsite Manager, Truck Rentals, Contactless Renting, Security Camera, Parking, Credit Cards Accepted, First Floor Access, Multi-Level Storage and Online Payment. Depending on what you need to put away in storage, you can discover there are some things you absolutely need, so make sure you check with the facility manager that you'll find everything you need on site.

This particular storage facility provides self storage units of different sizes, ranging from 20 to 300 square feet. Space is not an issue! If you have more belongings to store, or simply bulkier items or even vehicles, you should go for larger storage units.

You already know how much stuff you need to put in self storage, so figuring out the unit size you need is the next step. Smaller units such as 5'x5' or 5'x10' spaces can usually be filled with the amount of items you would normally store in a closet: a few chairs and lamps, sports equipment, garden tools and some boxes.

Moving on to larger sizes, imagine the 10'x10' and 10'x15' units as similar to a bedroom or a living room – larger pieces of furniture, sturdier equipment and bicycles can fit here. Finally, a 10'x20' unit has enough space for the contents of a 3-bedroom house, while the larger 10'x30' space easily accommodates the contents of a loaded semi-truck.

Monthly prices for units offered by Midgard Self Storage - 2909 Log Cabin Drive SE start from $35 and can go up to $404 for larger spaces.

Accessibility and quickness are key when it comes to storage, so drive-up storage units are generally regarded as very convenient. Pull your car right up to your storage space, load, unload, and you're good to go! However, if you're mostly storing temperature-sensitive items, you should rather consider indoor storage units.

Climate-controlled units maintain consistent temperatures and humidity levels all year round, making them perfect for all your sensitive items. Moisture and varying temperatures can damage a whole host of things, and that is why a lot of people choose to use climate-controlled units to store items like wooden furniture, electronics, artwork, documents and photographs, collectibles, antiques, etc. If the belongings you're storing are important to you, you should consider renting a climate-controlled unit.
