Read some helpful reviews of CubeSmart Self Storage at 3134 Chestnut Drive, shared by real renters with genuine experiences and honest opinions.

Changed ownership back in 2024. Automatic payments didn’t transfer. Said they emailed which I’m sure they did but never sent any physical mail. And never called me til nearly 6 months later when I was told I had to pay so much to keep it or they’d auction it off. I asked to pay only what I owed in rent and to have the fees waved because of the miscommunication. They refused and I couldn’t afford to pay the fees, they called around Christmas time mind you. So the unit was theirs. I’m writing today because there are a few sentimental things from my childhood that I realize were in there. Family things with no value other than sentimentally. I had my unit for 5 years it started at 25 dollars and was close to 70 by the end of it. I paid on time, I was a good tenant and they refused to wave fees from a misunderstanding when a transfer of ownership occurred that I wasn’t aware of. Don’t use these people. They are unreasonable and lack the simplest measures of decency. Also the units are extremely subpar, outdated and hardly secure. ... Read more

I called the 800# explained the size I needed. Paid. Didn’t go to location until two days after. Got there 15mins before office closing. The Office Rep met me at gate. She gave me code to get in and pointed to direction of my unit location. Drove around there were NO Lights it’s winter it gets dark early. I used my phone to put code to get into building open the hallway spelled like urine!????, Inopen my unit it was smaller than what requested. I walk back around to front Agent tells me She already clocked out and CubeSmart does Not pay for over time. They have a unit available to call the 800 number they can put me in another one all the units are pre programmed Inwill still be able to get in. I call 800 number the phone reps tells me there is a unit available but I canNOT get in until the next day because an Agent has to be there. I ask him to locate me one close by with climate control. After him asking questions that he did not need to ask and not listening to my request and constantly happy him to repeat what is on his script. I finally was able to get one not as close but the location and unit was much nicer. End up costing me more because I had to pay for longer time for the movers and the truck but at least in a better, cleaner smelling and safer location. ... Read more

This was my first time reserving a unit at this storage facility, and I’m impressed! The prices are very reasonable, making it a great choice if you’re looking for affordable storage. A special shoutout to Ms. Stephanie, who went above and beyond to make the entire process smooth and stress-free. Her excellent customer service made my move-in experience outstanding. Highly recommend! ... Read more

NEGATIVE 5 stars! DO NOT RENT A UNIT HERE! This place went down hill fast after the buy out from the previous owners! My unit was broken into and was absolutely trashed! And you know what? The management here did NOTHING to let me know that someone had broken in and that there might be things missing. If they were doing their jobs and checking regularly on hallway units like they should, they would have noticed that hallway units have had door vent broken. Like come on, you’re replying to google ratings about this exact issue for Christ sake. Let people know! I went in 7/26/25 and I just noticed that there are reviews going back 6 months with break ins. You’re purposely not notifying people in hopes that they won’t notice. Secondly my monthly payments went up by a big jump right from the start, which should have been a sign right from the beginning. My monthly payments went up every so often with the previous owners but only by a few dollars, not by nearly half of my monthly payment. If you enjoy your stuff being stolen, your hard earned money being borderline stolen as well, and pathetic management. You found the storage facility for you! 7/28/25 Update: Talked to the “new girl” in the office who is obviously playing dumb about this things going on. She boldly lied not once but three times. There are people living on site to which her lie was “Noooo, no one lives here. These aren’t apartments”. Second was “We walk the hallway units every Friday”. If yall walked units every Friday they would have noticed the broken vents, and at least made an effort to contact tenants. Third was about break ins being over a year ago. Like what!? I was here late January 2025 my unit was fine then. So you’re not walking hallway units like you said or just decide to “meh, not my problem” the situation. Inexperienced and just downright lazy people working here. ... Read more

? 0/10 DO NOT USE CUBESMART! HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE!? I had an absolutely terrible move-in experience at CubeSmart (3134 Chestnut Dr, Atlanta, GA 30340) and would never recommend this location—or the company as a whole—to anyone. Deceptive and Misleading Move-In Process I reserved and paid for a 10x10 drive-up unit on March 13th, expecting a smooth move-in process as outlined in their confirmation email. However, upon arriving at the location: My assigned unit was not secured with a seal tag as stated. The unit door was severely damaged, barely hanging on its hinges. There was a dirty, decades-old sofa sitting inside the unit—completely unacceptable! Confused and frustrated, I tried to locate another unit with my assigned number but found none. As 10:00 PM approached (end of access hours), I had no choice but to leave, completely livid about the situation. Customer Service? More Like Customer Disservice I immediately contacted CubeSmart’s customer service, explained the issue, and was offered an upgrade to a 10x20 unit at the same price due to this major inconvenience—which, frankly, did not make up for the ordeal. I was instructed to return the next day to speak with the on-site manager. Due to CubeSmart's incompetence, I had to extend my U-Haul rental, add extra mileage, and spend hundreds of dollars more—all because of their failure to provide the unit I originally paid for. The Nightmare Continues the Next Day When I returned during business hours: The new 10x20 unit was NOT a drive-up unit (which I specifically paid for!). Again, no secured seal tag, no welcome kit, and no lock. The onsite manager wasted over an hour searching for a proper unit, eventually finding another 10x10 drive-up unit (the size I originally paid for). I was downgraded back to a 10x10 unit without any compensation or discount, despite being promised an upgraded unit at the same price. Total Lack of Accountability & Support After moving my belongings into the unit, I contacted customer service again to explain everything. I was told: The site manager would call me within 48 hours—I waited 72 hours with no response. I had to call back repeatedly, eventually getting the district manager’s number. I called the district manager over 10 times, leaving at least 4 voicemails—NO RESPONSE. I called customer service again and was told there was no case even opened for me! When I asked to speak with a customer service manager, I was refused and simply given the same unresponsive district manager's number again before being hung up on. Final Verdict: Avoid CubeSmart at All Costs CubeSmart had no problem taking my money instantly, but when it came to actually providing the service I paid for, they failed at every level—local management, district management, and corporate customer service. This experience was a complete disaster from start to finish, costing me time, money, and unnecessary stress. I will be escalating this issue to CubeSmart corporate and beyond. ?? DO NOT USE CUBESMART! ?? Terrible company, incompetent staff, and zero customer care. ... Read more

Minimal security. I have noticed multiple units being broken into lately. Even though I’ve been here for two years and set up with auto pay I had my lock cut off and a new lock put on with no warning or reasoning. If you’re gonna rent here, don’t put anything valuable in your unit. ... Read more

Location was under construction according to sign - all gates were wide open so no security/ the access code didn't have to be put in. Frequently Asked Questions

Storage units available at CubeSmart Self Storage - 3134 Chestnut Drive include the following amenities: Indoor, Drive-Up Access, Retail Available, Onsite Manager, Contactless Renting, Security Camera, Gate, Parking, Credit Cards Accepted, First Floor Access, Online Payment and RV Storage. Depending on what you need to put away in storage, you can discover there are some things you absolutely need, so make sure you check with the facility manager that you'll find everything you need on site.

This particular storage facility provides self storage units of different sizes, ranging from 35 to 480 square feet. Space is not an issue! If you have more belongings to store, or simply bulkier items or even vehicles, you should go for larger storage units.

You already know how much stuff you need to put in self storage, so figuring out the unit size you need is the next step. Smaller units such as 5'x5' or 5'x10' spaces can usually be filled with the amount of items you would normally store in a closet: a few chairs and lamps, sports equipment, garden tools and some boxes.

Moving on to larger sizes, imagine the 10'x10' and 10'x15' units as similar to a bedroom or a living room – larger pieces of furniture, sturdier equipment and bicycles can fit here. Finally, a 10'x20' unit has enough space for the contents of a 3-bedroom house, while the larger 10'x30' space easily accommodates the contents of a loaded semi-truck.

Monthly prices for units offered by CubeSmart Self Storage - 3134 Chestnut Drive start from $13 and can go up to $224 for larger spaces.

Accessibility and quickness are key when it comes to storage, so drive-up storage units are generally regarded as very convenient. Pull your car right up to your storage space, load, unload, and you're good to go! However, if you're mostly storing temperature-sensitive items, you should rather consider indoor storage units.

Climate-controlled units maintain consistent temperatures and humidity levels all year round, making them perfect for all your sensitive items. Moisture and varying temperatures can damage a whole host of things, and that is why a lot of people choose to use climate-controlled units to store items like wooden furniture, electronics, artwork, documents and photographs, collectibles, antiques, etc. If the belongings you're storing are important to you, you should consider renting a climate-controlled unit.
