On 12.02.23 I went to Storage Zone 3866 Mike Padgett Hwy, Augusta, GA 30906. I informed them that I was interested in renting a storage unit. I was shown the "model" unit and NOT the actual unit I would be renting. The model unit was very clean, so I agreed to renting a storage unit from them (Yeah I trusted them, which was a HUGE mistake). I paid the initial fees. I was then given the code to my new storage unit. I traveled to it's location and was shocked by what I saw when I entered the storage unit, because it was FILTHY (See pictures). There were spiderwebs, spiders and other bugs everywhere. Needless to say I was not going to be putting my possessions in there. I notified the person who sold me the unit and they apologized and informed me that a maintenance guy would come out to the unit to verify what I told them. He was also shocked by what she saw and then offered to show me another storage unit that was for rent. I agreed to view it. When he unlocked the second unit, it was even filthier than the first unit. Not only did it have spiders and other bugs, but also broken glass and dark colored liquid spills everywhere. I informed him that I would not be using these units and would like a refund. He then replied that they didn't do refunds. I have spoken to the manager and left a customer complaint on their website and filed a Better Business Bureau complaint, but no one has reached back out to me or issued me a refund. Simply put, DO NOT USE THEIR STORAGE UNITS! 01.09.23 Update: Thankfully I was contacted by the original person who rented me the storage unit. They apologized for the inconvenience of this situation and refunded my money. ... Read more

This place has not been maintained over the past few years. Overgrown trees leaning over some of the units has caused issues with plant growth on top of some units and flooding into others. Unfortunately mine has been getting water inside and some type of wood chips are now falling from the ceiling. Unit A-22 ... Read more

Nice clean storage business. People are very nice and helpful. Storage area is fully enclosed with a 6 ft or taller fence. Power gate and you need a code to get through the gate. Could use more lighting. ... Read more

I would not recommend the Storage Zone on Mike Padgett Hwy Augusta Ga to my worst enemy just based on customer service alone! Because we live 45 minutes from the storage place I have tried calling them every month to pay the bill! That in itself is a joke since they next to NEVER answer their phone!! Every single month I have to speak into a voice mail! And the bad part is on their voicemail greeting they do tell you to leave your name and number and they will get right back to you! How ridiculous can it get when not only do they not answer the phone and don’t return your calls, making you burn precious gas to travel to their office to pay the bill!! Last month my husband went in to pay the bill because as usual they never answered or called back the whole week prior, and was told our bill had been paid but we owed late fee! He refused that explaining that I had tried repeatedly to call them! He also set up automatic withdrawal so I wouldn’t have to deal with trying to call every month! Today The money still sits in my bank 3 days after due withdrawal date. After more than one effort I did finally get someone on the phone just to find out The bill was more than double, because apparently they say we didn’t pay our bill last month!! Just so they don’t try and keep our stuff from us , over their screwup, we got to figure out how to settle this bill!! And when we do, we are out of there!! I will not deal with the stupidity of the people any longer than I have to!! What a say to run a business!! Scary part is the same people who run this place also run the trailer park behind them! Makes you wonder how many of those people have been screwed by these people!! So, take my word, wanna go through hell? Rent a storage unit from them!! And don’t say I didn’t warn you! ... Read more

Talk about janky... this office post my payment late so many times they wait literally a week after the bank sends the check... ask for the corporate office and they won't give it to you. They give you the owners email his name is James Nault with Guld Atlantic Assest Management. JOKE! They Change staff so often and so does their stories Sam in the front office is cool odd sometimes hard to take but everyone else has been no help. Not to mention the gate was broken for a better part of a year and you could only access during business hours which most adults are at work. I totally regret having this storage - they initially told me payment was late after the 6th I paid on the 6th 1 time and incurred a $25 late fee. If you do anything here get it in writing on your contract. Prices are good but you get what you pay for. Oh and the website says online payments, maybe in the year 2030. They have some catching up to do. Not even listed with BBB that I could find! ... Read more

Depending on what you need to put away in storage, you can discover there are some things you absolutely need, so make sure you check with the facility manager that you'll find everything you need on site.

This particular storage facility provides self storage units of different sizes, ranging from 25 to 300 square feet. Space is not an issue! If you have more belongings to store, or simply bulkier items or even vehicles, you should go for larger storage units.

You already know how much stuff you need to put in self storage, so figuring out the unit size you need is the next step. Smaller units such as 5'x5' or 5'x10' spaces can usually be filled with the amount of items you would normally store in a closet: a few chairs and lamps, sports equipment, garden tools and some boxes.

Moving on to larger sizes, imagine the 10'x10' and 10'x15' units as similar to a bedroom or a living room – larger pieces of furniture, sturdier equipment and bicycles can fit here. Finally, a 10'x20' unit has enough space for the contents of a 3-bedroom house, while the larger 10'x30' space easily accommodates the contents of a loaded semi-truck.

Monthly prices for units offered by Storage Zone Self Storage-Business Centers - 3866 Mike Padgett Hwy start from $29 and can go up to $699 for larger spaces.

Accessibility and quickness are key when it comes to storage, so drive-up storage units are generally regarded as very convenient. Pull your car right up to your storage space, load, unload, and you're good to go! However, if you're mostly storing temperature-sensitive items, you should rather consider indoor storage units.

Climate-controlled units maintain consistent temperatures and humidity levels all year round, making them perfect for all your sensitive items. Moisture and varying temperatures can damage a whole host of things, and that is why a lot of people choose to use climate-controlled units to store items like wooden furniture, electronics, artwork, documents and photographs, collectibles, antiques, etc. If the belongings you're storing are important to you, you should consider renting a climate-controlled unit.
