I've been a loyal customer for decades. Like all storage facilities, rates used to rise a bit every year. Some time ago the new owners started increasing rates Every 6 Months. So now, I'm paying $100 More each month than surrounding facilities charge for the same space. And $100 More each month than Storage King charges new customers at this same facility. So, they're holding my goods for ransom since this loyal customer is now elderly, disabled, unable to relocate and unable to afford to pay to have my stuff moved. Despicable. ... Read more

Sam helped my wife and I when we got there to be able to get our unit, lock and in such a timely manner. He was very friendly, helpful and made sure we were able to get all information we might need. Don’t normally use storage units and since we are from out of town he made the process quick and easy. Highly recommend you speak with Sam from Storage King USA, he’s awesome. ... Read more

I am writing as a deeply dissatisfied customer to express my frustration with the poor service I received at your Tallahassee location (942 SW Capital Circle). As a loyal client for 4 years and 7 months, I have never missed a payment but was penalized with a $30 late fee due to miscommunications and management failures. Here are the key points: • On 1/7/28, I called to inquire about moving out. I was informed I could move out by the 15th or make a payment to continue my rental. • I assumed my rental would continue without disruption since I did not move out. • On 1/14, I called to confirm my intent to stay another month. • On 1/16, I received an email about my account being past due, and a late fee was assessed. When I called to dispute it, I was told a manager would call me back. • Despite multiple follow-ups, my call was returned on 1/27, over 10 days later. During my call with manager Sam, I was acknowledged as a great client but told late fees are removed only for issues on your end. I highlighted problems stemming from: 1. Lack of communication about auto-pay policies. 2. Delayed responses regarding payment inquiries before the late fee. Despite thes noted issues on their end, no accommodation was made. I paid the full amount of $194, including the $30 late fee, and requested a resolution (e.g., a discount or alternative storage option), but none were offered. This experience has left me feeling disrespected as a loyal customer. I demand: 1. A refund of the $30 late fee due to your team’s failure to communicate. 2. A formal acknowledgment of the inconvenience caused. I plan to vacate the unit before February 15th and will share this experience in negative reviews regardless if no resolution is provided. I look forward to their immediate response and refund of $30. If I do not hear back within five business days, I will escalate this to corporate management and consumer protection agencies. Sincerely, Loyal Customer since June 2021 ... Read more

Very nice staff. however, I had a rat infestation in my unit ( no food, nothing like food etc in my things), they destroyed paintings and clothes, books etc. AND, curiously, a “neighbor” had opened up the dividing wall ( almost all the sheet rock panels) , falsely claiming the “masses” of my contents had broken the wall ( all the broken pieces were on MY side) and I discovered some of my boxes in THEIR unit. Calling the cops didnt lead anywhere- also very puzzling. ... Read more

Frequently Asked Questions

Storage units available at Southside Storage - 5353 Capital Circle SW include the following amenities: Climate-Controlled, Indoor, 24 hour access, Drive-Up Access, Security Camera, Gate and Credit Cards Accepted. Depending on what you need to put away in storage, you can discover there are some things you absolutely need, so make sure you check with the facility manager that you'll find everything you need on site.

You already know how much stuff you need to put in self storage, so figuring out the unit size you need is the next step. Smaller units such as 5'x5' or 5'x10' spaces can usually be filled with the amount of items you would normally store in a closet: a few chairs and lamps, sports equipment, garden tools and some boxes.

Moving on to larger sizes, imagine the 10'x10' and 10'x15' units as similar to a bedroom or a living room – larger pieces of furniture, sturdier equipment and bicycles can fit here. Finally, a 10'x20' unit has enough space for the contents of a 3-bedroom house, while the larger 10'x30' space easily accommodates the contents of a loaded semi-truck.

Accessibility and quickness are key when it comes to storage, so drive-up storage units are generally regarded as very convenient. Pull your car right up to your storage space, load, unload, and you're good to go! However, if you're mostly storing temperature-sensitive items, you should rather consider indoor storage units.

Climate-controlled units maintain consistent temperatures and humidity levels all year round, making them perfect for all your sensitive items. Moisture and varying temperatures can damage a whole host of things, and that is why a lot of people choose to use climate-controlled units to store items like wooden furniture, electronics, artwork, documents and photographs, collectibles, antiques, etc. If the belongings you're storing are important to you, you should consider renting a climate-controlled unit.
