Stay away from this facility. These units are infested with rats and cockroaches. If you want all your belongings to become contaminated, this is the place. Management will do nothing to remedy any situation or any other problem that may arise. They will always have the final say. You have been warned. ... Read more

The property manager was very helpful. Arrived early in the morning at the exact same time I was helping a friend out because he was afraid of making a late payment and we got there exactly when she arrived! She also had great energy. Please bless her heart and be very patient with her! She 100% deserves it since she gives great customer service. ... Read more

**Review: Horrible Customer Service Experience with public storage on oak ridge rd** I recently had the unfortunate experience of dealing with the Property Manager at the public storage on oak ridge rd, and I have to say, it was a complete nightmare. From the very start, communication was a struggle. I attempted to reach out several times via phone and email, only to be met with long delays or, at times, no response at all. When I finally managed to speak with the property manager, I was met with a rude and dismissive attitude. Instead of offering solutions, they were unhelpful, condescending, and seemed completely uninterested in addressing my concerns. It felt like I was inconveniencing them simply by asking questions about my storage unit. What really sealed the deal for me was the lack of professionalism. The facility itself was fine, but the poor customer service completely ruined my experience. There was no sense of urgency in resolving any issues, and when mistakes were made on their end, no apology was offered. Instead, they placed blame elsewhere without offering any assistance to make things right. If you're looking for a storage unit, do yourself a favor and go elsewhere. There are plenty of other places where customer service actually matters. I will not be returning to public storage, and I highly advise others to consider their options before doing business here. ... Read more

RATS WARNING!!!! This was my first experience w a storage I paid this place to store my belongings after I had to move to a smaller place and didn’t had room for my stuff and most of my stuff were brand new w their tickets and packs and when I came to the storage I found that everything was eaten by rats and what was not broken or eaten by rats was full of their shit smh I did complained to the manager and her response was that there are ppl who have food in their storage and that attract the rats but I had stuff that were NOT food like candles ect and they rate them ALL not just broke they ATE them ALL and even important documents I had they were destroyed in pieces because this is just a RATS HOUSE…and on top of that when you go to take your belongings and can’t take them with you because they full of rats shit what ever was left they expect you take it with you and not dump it in their dumpster because they will charge you a fee because their dumpster is not for the us who pay to use…THE WORSE EXPERIENCE EVER!!! Better just leave your belongings in a trash can you will save a lot of money compared to bring it to this place that would be paying them for destroying your stuff .. btw I did had my stuff in plastic bins and thinking they were protected but rats were smarter…No wonder the entrance gate is always broken I guess the angry customers can’t take no more and they just take it on the hat because out of 10 times I went 7 the gate was broken ..I guess their way to get their money back.. in their head.. because knowing this ppl they press charges too.. not surprise if I see in the news something happened here!!!! ... Just scammed me and stoled my money??. I’ve been returning customer at this location for 2 years. I was going to move out and turned off my autopayment. Property management called me at the beginning of the month and convinced me that I should make full monthly payment and I will be refunded if I move out early. And all they do when you move out is giving you customer service number. And all the customer service do is saying “we have no refund policy” and sending you back to property management. And property manager send you back to customer service. Vicious cycle. ?? ... Read more

DO NOT RENT HERE—AWFUL CONDITIONS AND HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE I strongly advise against using Public Storage. From the moment I rented my unit, it was clear they don’t care about maintaining the facility. The unit looked like it hadn’t been cleaned—dust and debris everywhere when they threw the key in. After just a month, I went to retrieve something and found all my belongings covered in black debris and wood fragments falling from the deteriorating ceiling. Cobwebs had already formed on my items, and I had spiders crawling on me while trying to move things. I called the office to request a different unit to prevent further damage. The office manager, who had a terrible attitude, dismissed my concerns, saying all the units were like that. She even offered to waste my time by showing me other units with the same issue instead of addressing the problem. Her excuse? “It’s just because it’s an outdoor unit.” That doesn’t justify a collapsing ceiling! Frustrated, I called corporate. They agreed this was a major issue and said the district manager would contact me “as soon as possible.” After two days with no response, I followed up. They claimed they’d submitted a follow-up request. After waiting another three days—still no call. After two weeks of calling back repeatedly, they finally gave me the district manager’s personal number. I left a voicemail, and it still took two more days to get a response. When I finally spoke with the district manager, she was no help at all. I asked to be moved to another Orlando location at the same rate, given the damage and hassle I’d endured. She refused, saying the condition of the current unit was “normal” and I’d have to pay the difference if I moved. No real apology, no compensation—just a measly $25 “credit” that never even appeared on my account. I ended up calling code enforcement. They inspected the unit and warned me the black debris might be asbestos, an outdated fire retardant. So not only are they destroying your belongings—they could be putting your health at risk. On top of all this and never contacting me after the “credit”, they emailed me that the rent was going up $10 more a month after only being there less than 6 months! This place is unsafe, poorly maintained, and run by people who couldn’t care less about their customers. If you value your possessions and your health, do not rent here. I highly recommend Morningstar Storage instead. Good prices, quality, and customer service. ... Read more

I have always liked public storage. I've done quite a few assignments straight out of locations like this one. Upon examining the grounds of this company I can already see some electrical code violations right by their front office. I hear a lot of other customers complaining about rats which are a definite problem for any storage company. I wouldn't bring my business over to this location unless they can explicitly guarantee that I won't see vermin and I wont have to deal with that kind of problem myself! ... Read more

Frequently Asked Questions

Storage units available at Public Storage - 1801 West Oak Ridge Road include the following amenities: Indoor, Drive-Up Access, Retail Available, Onsite Manager, Contactless Renting, Security Camera, Gate, Parking, Credit Cards Accepted, First Floor Access and Online Payment. Depending on what you need to put away in storage, you can discover there are some things you absolutely need, so make sure you check with the facility manager that you'll find everything you need on site.

This particular storage facility provides self storage units of different sizes, ranging from 25 to 200 square feet. Space is not an issue! If you have more belongings to store, or simply bulkier items or even vehicles, you should go for larger storage units.

You already know how much stuff you need to put in self storage, so figuring out the unit size you need is the next step. Smaller units such as 5'x5' or 5'x10' spaces can usually be filled with the amount of items you would normally store in a closet: a few chairs and lamps, sports equipment, garden tools and some boxes.

Moving on to larger sizes, imagine the 10'x10' and 10'x15' units as similar to a bedroom or a living room – larger pieces of furniture, sturdier equipment and bicycles can fit here. Finally, a 10'x20' unit has enough space for the contents of a 3-bedroom house, while the larger 10'x30' space easily accommodates the contents of a loaded semi-truck.

Monthly prices for units offered by Public Storage - 1801 West Oak Ridge Road start from $33 and can go up to $186 for larger spaces.

Accessibility and quickness are key when it comes to storage, so drive-up storage units are generally regarded as very convenient. Pull your car right up to your storage space, load, unload, and you're good to go! However, if you're mostly storing temperature-sensitive items, you should rather consider indoor storage units.

Climate-controlled units maintain consistent temperatures and humidity levels all year round, making them perfect for all your sensitive items. Moisture and varying temperatures can damage a whole host of things, and that is why a lot of people choose to use climate-controlled units to store items like wooden furniture, electronics, artwork, documents and photographs, collectibles, antiques, etc. If the belongings you're storing are important to you, you should consider renting a climate-controlled unit.
