Beware - it's lengthy. Am I an experienced storage unit client? No. With that being said, I do understand that my expectations may be aimed a little too high, but based on this being my first rodeo, I've developed pro's and cons. This facility is extremely close to my home, so it's never out of the way if I ever need something really quick. There's plenty of space for other vehicles to go around you while parked in front of your unit. No matter what time of day, whether it be light or dark out, I've never felt unsafe. My theory on storage units are that the contents of these units are possessions that people don't want to throw in the garbage. They most likely consist of belongings, memories, and/or furnishings for a new home, etc. However, after an incredibly short amount of time, people's belongings become nothing more than a breeding ground for toads, ants spiders, wasps, more ants, roaches, more spiders, and God only knows what else lurks in there that I've probably come across but am choosing to block it from my memory. I feel like I need to remind you people that we live in Florida. You all do know that right? If you do, I'm going to override that answer and change my question to a statement. An assertive statement. We live in FLORIDA! How can you charge $200 a month for units that are not climate controlled.. IN FLORIDA?! We're all guaranteed that our stuff we put in there to save will turn into a regret as we dump our belongings into the garbage can from the mold, bug deposits, and other disgusting scenarios. I'm absolutely appalled and regret ever putting my trust in your company. You get an F. *** Update 04/2025 I finally closed out my unit. I was complaining about $200 when I originally reviewed this place. It's now over $300. Everything I had in that unit that I paid thousands and thousands of dollars for went into the trash. Basically, this place is nothing than a waiting period for you to throw your possessions in the trash. After everything was out, the volume of roach poop was astounding. Astounding! I couldn't wrap my head around what I was seeing. Roach egg capsules all over everything. Everything. I'll tell you.. This doesn't sit well with me and I'm having a difficult time accepting of the fact that it all went to the dump. I'm debating whether or not I want to do something. I'm angry. You all are charging an arm and a leg to have people's belongings become a breeding ground for disease and filth. Thanks. ... Read more

Chris N was a life saver today! My daughter forgot to put the lock back on the unit and the company put a lock out lock on. He was kind enough to make a call and remove their lock and I came back with the proper lock. ... Read more

The company is all fit and ready to get you signed up but then are impossible to reach when you want to cancel your account. I recently had a space rented. When I went to cancel I found there is no easy way to get a hold of anyone. Once I did cancel the account they kept trying to bill me. I reached out and could not get a person on the line unless I lied to the automated system telling it I wanted to rent a new space. I was on the phone with someone in less than 30 seconds. Once I informed them what I needed they said they needed to route me to customer service, I am still on hold after 15 minutes. TL:DR Easy to Sign up, Clean Space, Impossible to Cancel Easily, Harassed by the Company for Money after cancelling my space ... Read more

Well things were going good until after just a a few months of renting I received an email notice that my monthly bill would be increasing by almost 35%. I called their customer service and was told that the fees are subject to change monthly at any time. Mind you this was going to be around a $60.00 per month increase. I told them that was unacceptable and that I'd be moving my stuff out within a couple days. They absolutely did not care one little bit. I asked how long my current months rent was good for and was told I was paid in full through January 31, 2025. I screenshot the response and a good thing. Just received another email stating I owed $119.00 with no explanation of the charges. So I argued that with them and had proof that just 3 days prior was told I was paid in full. This place seems like a bait and switch. Starts you out with a low rate and then a couple months in increases the rate an insane amount. And the cherry on top, they make up fake charges that if you don't argue with them, most people would probably just pay. I'd stay away from this shady business. ... Read more

Frequently Asked Questions

Storage units available at Public Storage - 2930 SE 58th Avenue include the following amenities: Indoor, 24 hour access, Drive-Up Access, Retail Available, Truck Rentals, Contactless Renting, Security Camera, Gate, Unstaffed Location, Kiosk Available, Credit Cards Accepted and Online Payment. Depending on what you need to put away in storage, you can discover there are some things you absolutely need, so make sure you check with the facility manager that you'll find everything you need on site.

This particular storage facility provides self storage units of different sizes, ranging from 50 to 300 square feet. Space is not an issue! If you have more belongings to store, or simply bulkier items or even vehicles, you should go for larger storage units.

You already know how much stuff you need to put in self storage, so figuring out the unit size you need is the next step. Smaller units such as 5'x5' or 5'x10' spaces can usually be filled with the amount of items you would normally store in a closet: a few chairs and lamps, sports equipment, garden tools and some boxes.

Moving on to larger sizes, imagine the 10'x10' and 10'x15' units as similar to a bedroom or a living room – larger pieces of furniture, sturdier equipment and bicycles can fit here. Finally, a 10'x20' unit has enough space for the contents of a 3-bedroom house, while the larger 10'x30' space easily accommodates the contents of a loaded semi-truck.

Monthly prices for units offered by Public Storage - 2930 SE 58th Avenue start from $70 and can go up to $168 for larger spaces.

Accessibility and quickness are key when it comes to storage, so drive-up storage units are generally regarded as very convenient. Pull your car right up to your storage space, load, unload, and you're good to go! However, if you're mostly storing temperature-sensitive items, you should rather consider indoor storage units.

Climate-controlled units maintain consistent temperatures and humidity levels all year round, making them perfect for all your sensitive items. Moisture and varying temperatures can damage a whole host of things, and that is why a lot of people choose to use climate-controlled units to store items like wooden furniture, electronics, artwork, documents and photographs, collectibles, antiques, etc. If the belongings you're storing are important to you, you should consider renting a climate-controlled unit.
