I rented a 10x20 storage unit at this Public Storage facility over 2 years from 2023-2025. Pros: location off of US1. Secure entry/gating. Cons: there are many. The lighting outside of my unit failed to properly work the entire duration of my rental. I raised this issue every single time I visited to the on-site attendant as well as escalated to the regional manager. I left voicemail after voicemail for the regional manager and not a single call was returned. Temperature was poorly controlled. The terrible experience made me never want to go to the unit and retrieve my items. Further, rates were misrepresented by the saleswoman who leased me the unit on the phone prior to moving. I have rented many storage units in my life and found her salespitch appealing... "we have a promotion with no rate increases," or take a reduced up front rate for one or several months. I opted for the "locked in" rate. Alas, this was false. Rates went up rapidly and significantly... from $400 to $500 to $600. I am a discerning customer and made sure to inquire about the rate lock ahead of time and was simply lied to (either intentionally or due to lack of understanding). Either way, this was a poorly run site with inadequate temperature control and motion-activated light sensors that failed to stay more than 30 seconds on when I was inside the unit leading to an unsafe environment. I strongly recommend against leasing here. ... Read more

Huge storage building, gated all the way around, with code access or through an app on the phone. Right off of a major street and fairly centralized for easy access by vehicle or on foot. Entire facility is clean, brightly lit, security cameras, and fire sprinklers everywhere. I definitely felt my property secure in this place. All employees I came in contact with were courteous and helpful. Easy and quick rental process with easy billing through the app. Never had an issue. This is my 2nd time renting from this company, the other was in Miami Beach and was the same good quality property and service. I rented a small locker, 5 x 5 space and the interior was clean and secure all the way around with cool A/C inside! Would definitely rent here again if needed to in this area. ... Read more

Had a seamless experience from start to finish at this Public Storage location! Morley and Jovanny went above and beyond, offering exceptional service that made the entire process a breeze. The facility is well-maintained and efficient, with smooth access and great security. The only things missing? Some relaxing lounge music, maybe a bench for those needing a moment to regroup after a hectic moving day, and a quick spruce-up for the bathrooms. Other than that, top-notch service and an effortless experience—highly recommend! ... Read more

Frequently Asked Questions

Storage units available at Public Storage - 2851 SW 31st Avenue include the following amenities: Climate-Controlled, Indoor, Retail Available, Onsite Manager, Contactless Renting, Security Camera, Parking, Credit Cards Accepted, Elevators, First Floor Access, Multi-Level Storage and Online Payment. Depending on what you need to put away in storage, you can discover there are some things you absolutely need, so make sure you check with the facility manager that you'll find everything you need on site.

This particular storage facility provides self storage units of different sizes, ranging from 25 to 225 square feet. Space is not an issue! If you have more belongings to store, or simply bulkier items or even vehicles, you should go for larger storage units.

You already know how much stuff you need to put in self storage, so figuring out the unit size you need is the next step. Smaller units such as 5'x5' or 5'x10' spaces can usually be filled with the amount of items you would normally store in a closet: a few chairs and lamps, sports equipment, garden tools and some boxes.

Moving on to larger sizes, imagine the 10'x10' and 10'x15' units as similar to a bedroom or a living room – larger pieces of furniture, sturdier equipment and bicycles can fit here. Finally, a 10'x20' unit has enough space for the contents of a 3-bedroom house, while the larger 10'x30' space easily accommodates the contents of a loaded semi-truck.

Monthly prices for units offered by Public Storage - 2851 SW 31st Avenue start from $33 and can go up to $554 for larger spaces.

Accessibility and quickness are key when it comes to storage, so drive-up storage units are generally regarded as very convenient. Pull your car right up to your storage space, load, unload, and you're good to go! However, if you're mostly storing temperature-sensitive items, you should rather consider indoor storage units.

Climate-controlled units maintain consistent temperatures and humidity levels all year round, making them perfect for all your sensitive items. Moisture and varying temperatures can damage a whole host of things, and that is why a lot of people choose to use climate-controlled units to store items like wooden furniture, electronics, artwork, documents and photographs, collectibles, antiques, etc. If the belongings you're storing are important to you, you should consider renting a climate-controlled unit.
