Storage units are fine just like any other climate control but no carts to help move and I chose an upstairs unit due to it being about $20 cheaper a month and then they raised the prices about a year later for the same price as the downstairs. I am still pretty upset about it because it’s a HUGE inconvenience to be upstairs and having to use elevator etc. they didn’t raise the downstairs that I k ow of because they were the same price when I called for prices after the hike ... I had used Chavers for about five years. They're friendly and for the most part helpful. However at Chavers 2 the elevator doesn't quite work well. If you rent from the second floor which is cheaper. You cannot hold the elevator to load or unload your stuff on or off or it will malfunction. ... Read more

I went in yesterday to inquire about the place and a woman handed me an outdated contract. She later stated over the phone that she was told to provide it to me by Ben the owner. The lease had several illegal provisions in it. The fourth district court in Fl has found that no landlord can engage in self help in any eviction action including commercial. Self help is only allowed when the tenant surrenders or abandons the space. It is illegal to threaten self help to gain the space back strictly because they want the space back and/or if the tenant is behind in rent. The auctions are all illegal that these facilities have. In addition this place has no regard for tenants personal treasured belongings as Ben stated over the phone to me that he pressure washes units with the contents in them knowing that some sort of negligence may occur. No unit should ever be pressure washed unless its completely vacant. So in essence the self service storage act is a bunch of bull that is just written into these illegal contracts to try to intimidate the tenant. If anyone reads this and finds they are behind in rent or can't afford to move and a storage owner is threatening a lockout and auction, call the police immediately as they cannot prevent access without a court order. Don't let their screaming and threatening law enforcement bully you into believing you are being denied access lawfully. And if all else fails cut the lock off yourself. It's not a crime to break into your own unit but it is a crime to deny a tenant due process of law even a mere threat. I do plan to report this place to the appropriate agency for Florida. ... I've been a renter from Chavers Storage since 2008. Never had issues renting from here. Still cheapest you will find in town. Even has discounted rate offers to those that qualify, like paying up to a year in advance. Climate (indoor), Outdoor storage units, and Outside storage space available. ... Read more

Frequently Asked Questions

Storage units available at Chavers Storage-Rental - 2511 Highway 77 include the following amenities: Climate-Controlled, Indoor, Drive-Up Access, Onsite Manager, Security Camera, Gate, Parking, Credit Cards Accepted, Multi-Level Storage, Online Payment and RV Storage. Depending on what you need to put away in storage, you can discover there are some things you absolutely need, so make sure you check with the facility manager that you'll find everything you need on site.

You already know how much stuff you need to put in self storage, so figuring out the unit size you need is the next step. Smaller units such as 5'x5' or 5'x10' spaces can usually be filled with the amount of items you would normally store in a closet: a few chairs and lamps, sports equipment, garden tools and some boxes.

Moving on to larger sizes, imagine the 10'x10' and 10'x15' units as similar to a bedroom or a living room – larger pieces of furniture, sturdier equipment and bicycles can fit here. Finally, a 10'x20' unit has enough space for the contents of a 3-bedroom house, while the larger 10'x30' space easily accommodates the contents of a loaded semi-truck.

Accessibility and quickness are key when it comes to storage, so drive-up storage units are generally regarded as very convenient. Pull your car right up to your storage space, load, unload, and you're good to go! However, if you're mostly storing temperature-sensitive items, you should rather consider indoor storage units.

Climate-controlled units maintain consistent temperatures and humidity levels all year round, making them perfect for all your sensitive items. Moisture and varying temperatures can damage a whole host of things, and that is why a lot of people choose to use climate-controlled units to store items like wooden furniture, electronics, artwork, documents and photographs, collectibles, antiques, etc. If the belongings you're storing are important to you, you should consider renting a climate-controlled unit.
