Read some helpful reviews of Storage Rentals of America at 8900 Commons Way, shared by real renters with genuine experiences and honest opinions.

We were warmly welcomed by the Estero, Florida SROA facility manager, Shannon. The office is very comfortable and attractive. Shannon located a vacant storage unit for us that me our exact needs. She escorted us to look at the unit, which was very clean and climate controlled. It was a pleasure dealing with Shannon and we are so pleased to have located the SROA facility near our home! ... Edited 1/20/26 to update - while they mention they will contact... They didn't, and they won't. Do yourself a favor and look hard at the reviews. The same problems, including the gate remaining open and the units' security, have persisted since 2017. This facility is clearly in harvest mode. The owner is reaping profits with no intention of repairs or improvements. If this is a chain, I don't understand how they let this go on and tarnish their brand. We’ve rented at this facility for several years, and while introductory rates are a normal part of the storage business, the pattern here has become unreasonable. Two years ago our rate doubled year over year. When I inquired, the only solution offered was to move our belongings to another unit with a lower “new customer” rate. We did the work and moved. Over the past twelve months, the rate has doubled again, from roughly ninety dollars to nearly two hundred per month. When I stopped by the office yesterday to see if anything could be done, I was told that the onsite team has no control over pricing and no ability to escalate concerns. If I’m going to move everything a second time, it will be to a facility that is better maintained and more secure. And that’s where the larger issue comes in. The front gate has been broken for almost two years, with the explanation being “waiting on parts.” The door to our building hasn’t latched in that same timeframe. The lighting inside our unit is so poor that we use our phone flashlights to see, which is how we noticed the dead roach on the floor. Even at 10:15 in the morning, with full sun, the security cameras didn’t appear to be working (See pictures). It is not reassuring that the gate is open and the building doesn’t secure. The unit door itself won’t stay open without propping it with a mattress we store inside. We also have to stand on the handle and push down on the door to latch and unlatch it. The most disappointing part was the attendant's response: there was no one who could call me, everyone was “too busy,” and they currently have no district manager. They are all doing their best... We’ve stayed only because of the effort required to move our belongings, but at this point, it’s hard to justify. If you value security, maintenance, or basic customer support, I would encourage you to consider other options before choosing this facility. ... Read more

I have used public storage several times over 30 years , and this by far has been my best experience . Staff is very accommodating and seem to really care about their customers . I chose the wrong size unit for a Golf Cart and they immediately tried finding one that would work . Normally they do not go the extra mile because of the paperwork . Greg , Kim , and Shannon have really been great to work with . When in Estero Florida I encourage you start with Storage Rentals of America ! ... Read more

Clean, convenient, and affordable! I am moving and emptied out my unit today. I was worried there may be damage to stuff from hurricanes and lots of rain— after 6 months plus of not checking on my unit… I was so happy to see everything just like I left it! Extra thank you to one of the property managers Adria! Very friendly staff and easy to get a unit in person or completely online. ... Read more

Frequently Asked Questions

Storage units available at Storage Rentals of America - 8900 Commons Way include the following amenities: Climate-Controlled, Indoor, 24 hour access, Drive-Up Access, Retail Available, Onsite Manager, Contactless Renting, Security Camera, Gate, Parking, Credit Cards Accepted, First Floor Access, Online Payment and RV Storage. Depending on what you need to put away in storage, you can discover there are some things you absolutely need, so make sure you check with the facility manager that you'll find everything you need on site.

This particular storage facility provides self storage units of different sizes, ranging from 24 to 600 square feet. Space is not an issue! If you have more belongings to store, or simply bulkier items or even vehicles, you should go for larger storage units.

You already know how much stuff you need to put in self storage, so figuring out the unit size you need is the next step. Smaller units such as 5'x5' or 5'x10' spaces can usually be filled with the amount of items you would normally store in a closet: a few chairs and lamps, sports equipment, garden tools and some boxes.

Moving on to larger sizes, imagine the 10'x10' and 10'x15' units as similar to a bedroom or a living room – larger pieces of furniture, sturdier equipment and bicycles can fit here. Finally, a 10'x20' unit has enough space for the contents of a 3-bedroom house, while the larger 10'x30' space easily accommodates the contents of a loaded semi-truck.

Monthly prices for units offered by Storage Rentals of America - 8900 Commons Way start from $7 and can go up to $253 for larger spaces.

Accessibility and quickness are key when it comes to storage, so drive-up storage units are generally regarded as very convenient. Pull your car right up to your storage space, load, unload, and you're good to go! However, if you're mostly storing temperature-sensitive items, you should rather consider indoor storage units.

Climate-controlled units maintain consistent temperatures and humidity levels all year round, making them perfect for all your sensitive items. Moisture and varying temperatures can damage a whole host of things, and that is why a lot of people choose to use climate-controlled units to store items like wooden furniture, electronics, artwork, documents and photographs, collectibles, antiques, etc. If the belongings you're storing are important to you, you should consider renting a climate-controlled unit.
