The best customer service I've ever received is from this company by John. In the one month that I was with U Store, John was so helpful. He helped me with everything that I needed and always was polite and nice. Everybody loves him. ... Read more

Iam writing today to complain about the poor service I have received at New York ave U Store far as the elevator. Which have been on and off inoperative for several months. Before this current management, there was less problems. I am a disabled veteran. And the elevator. It's very helpful because of my medical condition. Just recently, both elevators were broke. I had a difficult time trying to maneuver my items. Which caused pain throughout my body. I'm a faithful customer and I do appreciate the staff work. I'm seeking compensation for the loss of work wages. Lost. And body pain. Yesterday the right elevator went out. I had to call 911.Because a gentleman fainted on the first floor. This letter will be forwarded. To the department of veteran affairs. And the District of Columbia government ... Read more

I was a customer of u-store for a long 7-8 months. Always paid on time and made sure to check things off on my end. The storage temps were either extremely cold or extremely hot, never regulated. Items in the storage were thrown away dues to all the mice and rodents. When closing out the storage unit I cleaned up everything I could but the elevators once again weren’t working. I put all the trash in trash bags and left it in the unit. I notified the manager and got a horrible response. I was treated disrespectful and with no dignity. Overall this experience was terrible. This facility needs a total revamp. ... Read more

The elevator is constantly out of service, which is a nightmare if your unit isn’t on the ground floor. On top of that, they keep raising prices with no improvement in service. I’ll be looking for another storage option ASAP. I’d strongly advise others to stay away—it’s not worth the hassle or the cost. ... Read more

Whatever lady is at the front desk has 0 idea what she is doing. BUYER BEWARE YOU MAY BE SCAMMED As you see, the merchant replied to my comment here but never followed up via email. They wrongfully charged me and never refunded me. This was over two weeks ago. The merchant has been completely unhelpful and unresponsive. I’m having to go through my bank and hope for a refund. ... I had a really great experience with U-Store. My items were stored there for about a year and the process was super easy and pricing was very reasonable. When I ran into issues with my moving company and needed to delay my move out of the unit/leave a few items behind they couldn't have been more helpful and understanding. Extremely kind staff that cares (thank you John and Carl). Can't recommend enough! ... Read more

Self Storage - 301 New York Avenue NE include the following amenities: Climate-Controlled, Indoor, Drive-Up Access, Retail Available, Onsite Manager, Security Camera, Gate, Parking, Credit Cards Accepted, Elevators, First Floor Access, Multi-Level Storage and Online Payment. Depending on what you need to put away in storage, you can discover there are some things you absolutely need, so make sure you check with the facility manager that you'll find everything you need on site.

This particular storage facility provides self storage units of different sizes, ranging from 20 to 200 square feet. Space is not an issue! If you have more belongings to store, or simply bulkier items or even vehicles, you should go for larger storage units.

You already know how much stuff you need to put in self storage, so figuring out the unit size you need is the next step. Smaller units such as 5'x5' or 5'x10' spaces can usually be filled with the amount of items you would normally store in a closet: a few chairs and lamps, sports equipment, garden tools and some boxes.

Moving on to larger sizes, imagine the 10'x10' and 10'x15' units as similar to a bedroom or a living room – larger pieces of furniture, sturdier equipment and bicycles can fit here. Finally, a 10'x20' unit has enough space for the contents of a 3-bedroom house, while the larger 10'x30' space easily accommodates the contents of a loaded semi-truck.

Monthly prices for units offered by Washington D.C. Self Storage - 301 New York Avenue NE start from $44 and can go up to $419 for larger spaces.

Accessibility and quickness are key when it comes to storage, so drive-up storage units are generally regarded as very convenient. Pull your car right up to your storage space, load, unload, and you're good to go! However, if you're mostly storing temperature-sensitive items, you should rather consider indoor storage units.

Climate-controlled units maintain consistent temperatures and humidity levels all year round, making them perfect for all your sensitive items. Moisture and varying temperatures can damage a whole host of things, and that is why a lot of people choose to use climate-controlled units to store items like wooden furniture, electronics, artwork, documents and photographs, collectibles, antiques, etc. If the belongings you're storing are important to you, you should consider renting a climate-controlled unit.
