Top Notch ! Matt N. in particular has been super helpful at this location, especially guiding me through as a first-time user of storage. Very clean, secure and safe. Brand new and it shows. 5 stars for sure! ... Read more

I have bought over 700 storage locker auctions. Extra space has the shortest time they give you to clean out the unit. 48 hours depends on when you buy the unit it's hard to go the same day. And these days we have to buy multiple units a week. They are more expensive and more junk. Never in the 14 years I have done this that a manager held true to the exact 48 hours. End of day whatever the 48 hours fall on. Most of the store managers know they need us as much as we need them. Well I am assuming the general manager here which seemed very young couldn't wait. Seemed giddy on calling me literally within 30 minutes of the 48 mark. Like she was waiting all morning to call. To say that I didn't clean it out on time and she is reporting me. And the website company doesn't play around. They suspend for life. There is a lot of bad people in the business. But I work my tail off. Yes I didn't clean out on the time on the invoice. I guess I just assumed she was every other place.. I was literally about to be on my way. I worked on another unit the day before and had hours of throwing everything away that morning. Have to fit in everything within a short time. It's insane amount of work and mostly you get trash. So the manager for some reason and the district manager instead of asking me what's up just shut me down. Crazy! Keep my $100 deposit because they couldn't wait a few more hours. And literally destroy my way of life. Absolutely no empathy or care. The crazy part is now they cost extra more money in the long run. Either they or other people are paid to clean it out. And it was all trash. And they won't have it down in 3 hours like I would have. The place has so many empty units. They were not in a rush. Just want to follow the rules so they can look "good" or have a power trip. Well not a good business decision. And not good humans. Now I just need to change my whole life to be able to support myself and two kids. I could understand if it was the following day. But it wasn't it was 30 minutes!!!! After the time frame. If they knew what I went through with the prior unit. And top it all off. I lost over $300 for them to do this to me. This place only changes managers left and right. And the area has gone down hill in my opinion. Supposedly a new dm. Nobody likes them from the people I know from other stores I have bought from in the past. This is the same place I stored in for 3-4 years and had anywhere from 3-7 units and all time. I wouldn't store there. She will have no empathy or care about you. That is a place you don't want to do business with unless you like hate and frustration. ... Read more

The representative on the phone took the time to find the space I was looking for in my area, and for the best possible price. Additionally, the representative at the rental location was completely transparent with me in explaining all of the fees and likely future rate increases up front, before getting into any exchange of information. No one wants a rent increase, but it’s much less frustrating when it’s not a surprise. ... Read more

I had just ordered my interior climate controlled unit over the weekend. Tuesday came and I was bringing my first load over and the building had no power! I called the number on the door and immediately was helped! Though I couldn’t get into that building I was offered a one foot larger unit at the brand new facility a 1/2 mile down the road for the same price ! I drove there and was greeted with apologies and a smile! They cancelled my other unit and set me up in the new one! They honored the price etc! While I hate paying for storage I’m glad I came here! ... Read more

Frequently Asked Questions

Storage units available at Extra Space Storage - 59 Douglas Street include the following amenities: Climate-Controlled, Indoor, Drive-Up Access, Retail Available, Onsite Manager, Contactless Renting, Security Camera, Gate, Parking, Online Payment and RV Storage. Depending on what you need to put away in storage, you can discover there are some things you absolutely need, so make sure you check with the facility manager that you'll find everything you need on site.

This particular storage facility provides self storage units of different sizes, ranging from 20 to 300 square feet. Space is not an issue! If you have more belongings to store, or simply bulkier items or even vehicles, you should go for larger storage units.

You already know how much stuff you need to put in self storage, so figuring out the unit size you need is the next step. Smaller units such as 5'x5' or 5'x10' spaces can usually be filled with the amount of items you would normally store in a closet: a few chairs and lamps, sports equipment, garden tools and some boxes.

Moving on to larger sizes, imagine the 10'x10' and 10'x15' units as similar to a bedroom or a living room – larger pieces of furniture, sturdier equipment and bicycles can fit here. Finally, a 10'x20' unit has enough space for the contents of a 3-bedroom house, while the larger 10'x30' space easily accommodates the contents of a loaded semi-truck.

Monthly prices for units offered by Extra Space Storage - 59 Douglas Street start from $36 and can go up to $262 for larger spaces.

Accessibility and quickness are key when it comes to storage, so drive-up storage units are generally regarded as very convenient. Pull your car right up to your storage space, load, unload, and you're good to go! However, if you're mostly storing temperature-sensitive items, you should rather consider indoor storage units.

Climate-controlled units maintain consistent temperatures and humidity levels all year round, making them perfect for all your sensitive items. Moisture and varying temperatures can damage a whole host of things, and that is why a lot of people choose to use climate-controlled units to store items like wooden furniture, electronics, artwork, documents and photographs, collectibles, antiques, etc. If the belongings you're storing are important to you, you should consider renting a climate-controlled unit.
