This was the best experience I have ever had with a storage facility! Utilizing storage spaces is key for our business. We were with the previous owner and had a decent experience but it wasn't great. During the changeover it was a little challenging with the initial gentleman that we spoke with but when Micki took over she made a difficult experience and situation phenomenal! She figured out a complex challenge that we had and came up with a solution that was both positive for us and for extra storage. We were going to leave the facility entirely. After our experience with Micki we decided to keep a storage there and help with a non-profit that is staying there as well! Micki is truly a kind, professional, honest and has such integrity. She always goes the extra mile for each and every client within the facility. She even is available sometimes on her day off when the employees call to make sure that we as clients are taken care of making her dedication just remarkable. She's always positive uplifting and just a joy to be around. If you love, terrible service, this is absolutely the place for you! Communication - yeah right. Respect - Yeah, that’s definitely not included in the rental fee. I received a call at 2:40 in the afternoon telling me there was an issue with my lock and that if I did not get there by 6 PM that day, my lock would be drilled and I would be charged for the labor and repair. When I asked for more clarity on the situation and for how long there’s been an issue with my door, the woman who called me said she can’t offer me any details because she just floats around and was simply told to call me. I showed up at 3:45. There’s no attendant anywhere to be found. My unit is locked. The door does not open. So now I’m standing here for the better part of 20 minutes waiting for the attendant on call to “come back from the bathroom” in order to verify they even called the correct person. I recently moved from one location to another and in all my experiences, over the past 13 months with both locations, they've been AMAZING! I came to them after my husband passed away and it left me without a home. Everyone at Extra Space Storage was so respectful and understanding to my situation. There was a homeless individual sleeping in the hallway next to my unit. He had the storage space next to mine it was packed full of crates of his things. Mid day my husband and I went to put some things in storage and there he was. Needless to say my husband wasn't comfortable with us keeping our things there as sometimes I go alone. When I brought it up to the girl at the front she already knew about him and said she'd "talk to him". I could EASILY see him in the security camera TV they have mounted in the office. They clearly are aware homeless are using this as a cheap apartment. My understanding is a new company bought them out. Hopefully they make some changes. I rented a storage unit in March of 24, a year ago this month. My mom had past away in December of 23 and the family home was sold that month. Her home was immaculate yet filled with items. She clearly had borderline hoarder tendencies. So there is generations of keepsakes and family heirlooms to deal with. It was an overwhelming amount of items which folks from that generation have. Lots of glassware, china, knickknacks and every little thing she had saved from my sister and my childhood and our children as well. And although we had a huge yard sale and donated a lot of her things, I may have inherited those hoarding tendencies lol and couldn't part with them. I needed time and a safe place to store them. I called and looked at a couple different units nearby, however I was full of uncertainty. Until I entered the office of Value Store it Deer Valley , and Jeni welcomed me and before she even took me to look at the units available, I knew for certain this was where very fussy momma wanted her precious keepsakes to be... It's been a year and I have been able to sort through it with out any rush or worry. Jen is so kind and keeps the place up to high standards. I highly recommend Jen and Value Store it Deer Valley to anyone in need of a unit. I am moving to Oregon at the end of the month and I am suppose to be hiring a moving company to ship these things there very soon. However, my anxiety is high having to trust anyone with these things. I have never hauled a trailer and I don't feel comfortable doing that by myself for the first time on I-5.
