Update: Continue to have great service when needed from property staff. Great property to use. Originally I had issues with getting a response from the local property staff, however Debbie was awesome and got everything sorted out on my move-in date. She provided the best customer service and had an awesome attitude! Made my frustration go away. ... Read more

Great customer service by Andy. She was very helpful, knowledgeable, and patient in finding me the perfect space. Property was converting from swamp coolers to AC units, Andy said. Good to know for next summer! The PS app has a cool feature where you can open the gate from your phone!! Wow! ... Read more

Advertises climate controlled, but i recently went into my unit and it was pretty hot in there (almost 100 degrees) in there. In addition, they raised my rent FORTY DOLLARS a month. I am not sure how simple maintainance of a storage facility costs so much that you need to raise rent by that much. The units are dirty and have shoeprints ON THE WALLS 5-10 feet up, and crap on the floor, so, combined with the lack of climate control that THEY ADVERTISE, i really cannot fathom how they are using that extra money. Update: do not schedule your move out two weeks in advance like they say. I did, and the app immediately disabled my access to everything. I am glad i had moved my stuff out before but i paid for a whole month and didn't get thr full month. ... Read more

Taylor and Kyle are very professional and knowledgeable. Most companies would value employees like these. However It's a shame that public storage doesn't care about throwing them to the wolves with outrageous price hikes every quarter. I have spoke with many other tenants on site over the past year and it seems like nobody remains here more than 3 months because of these outrageous increases. 3 to 5% a year to keep up with inflation for a type of business that barely has any overhead or repairs would be something actually reasonable. However Public storage is more on course to increase your rate 60 to $80 every 3 months until you move out or just keep receiving it in the rear. I don't understand these business practices where you have so many people moving in and out because of these increases and end up having units empty as opposed to keeping tenants for longer period of time by being reasonable. Shame on public storage corporate. Your employees make the business the board members do not ... Read more

Star – Avoid This Place Like the Plague If I could give zero stars, I would. Our experience with Public Storage at 5910 E McDowell Rd in Mesa, AZ has been an absolute nightmare. We paid $350 at the beginning of March for access to our unit (#0404), and guess what we got in return? Locked out. For weeks. No explanation. No notice. Just showed up multiple times to get essential work tools, and the unit was inaccessible over and over again. That cost us gas, time, AND income. The manager, Kyle, verbally told us we’d have access until the end of the month—but then locked the unit before the month was even over. We have photo evidence of being denied access. Still, no written communication, no justification, and absolutely no customer service. It honestly felt personal—like some weird vendetta we never signed up for. Public Storage, if you're reading this: you took our money, broke your end of the agreement, and left us in a financial hole. If you think this is over, it’s not—we’re already preparing to take legal action. Do NOT rent here unless you enjoy paying for nothing, being ignored, and getting jerked around by management. Total disgrace of a company. ... Read more

“I want to commend Kyle and Eddy for their exceptional assistance in helping us find the best storage solution. They were not only friendly but also thorough in presenting a variety of options for us to consider, making the entire process seamless and stress-free. Their professionalism and customer-focused approach truly stood out. One area where the company could improve, however, is by offering discounts for loyal customers, veterans, AAA members, or similar groups. This small addition could further enhance customer satisfaction and loyalty. Thank you for providing such great service!” ... Read more

Streamlined processes, systems, sites, and tools and secured location with local (direct) support. Deborah at the 5910 E McDowell Rd, Mesa, AZ 85215 location was incredibly gracious and helpful with my departure yesterday. She immediately called me after having canceled online to confirm the move-out date and helped me save the entire month of November's rent by suggesting I change the move-out date to yesterday, else I would have paid for November if I would have checked out on the 2nd of November. Deborah demonstrated what I value the most, being competent, communicative, and friendly. Thank you Debbie! Cheers, Jason Howard Peterson REALTOR® ... Read more

Frequently Asked Questions

Storage units available at Public Storage - 5910 East McDowell Road include the following amenities: Climate-Controlled, Indoor, Drive-Up Access, Retail Available, Onsite Manager, Contactless Renting, Security Camera, Gate, Parking, Credit Cards Accepted, Keyless Unit Access, First Floor Access, Online Payment and RV Storage. Depending on what you need to put away in storage, you can discover there are some things you absolutely need, so make sure you check with the facility manager that you'll find everything you need on site.

This particular storage facility provides self storage units of different sizes, ranging from 25 to 400 square feet. Space is not an issue! If you have more belongings to store, or simply bulkier items or even vehicles, you should go for larger storage units.

You already know how much stuff you need to put in self storage, so figuring out the unit size you need is the next step. Smaller units such as 5'x5' or 5'x10' spaces can usually be filled with the amount of items you would normally store in a closet: a few chairs and lamps, sports equipment, garden tools and some boxes.

Moving on to larger sizes, imagine the 10'x10' and 10'x15' units as similar to a bedroom or a living room – larger pieces of furniture, sturdier equipment and bicycles can fit here. Finally, a 10'x20' unit has enough space for the contents of a 3-bedroom house, while the larger 10'x30' space easily accommodates the contents of a loaded semi-truck.

Monthly prices for units offered by Public Storage - 5910 East McDowell Road start from $30 and can go up to $374 for larger spaces.

Accessibility and quickness are key when it comes to storage, so drive-up storage units are generally regarded as very convenient. Pull your car right up to your storage space, load, unload, and you're good to go! However, if you're mostly storing temperature-sensitive items, you should rather consider indoor storage units.

Climate-controlled units maintain consistent temperatures and humidity levels all year round, making them perfect for all your sensitive items. Moisture and varying temperatures can damage a whole host of things, and that is why a lot of people choose to use climate-controlled units to store items like wooden furniture, electronics, artwork, documents and photographs, collectibles, antiques, etc. If the belongings you're storing are important to you, you should consider renting a climate-controlled unit.
