The customer service was quick, efficient and she offered advice and tips to maneuver the storage unit and even the door (I couldn’t get it open). I appreciate the care and concern on top of top tier customer service. Thank you ?? ... Read more

All would have been fine and great here, except the roll up door to the unit I was renting was covered with tiny red bugs. When my storage neighbor heard my daughter asking about the red bugs, she came over and told us she hated to tell us that those red bugs were chiggers. Next day, my hand was COVERED in bites. When I called to let them know, I was told by a remote manager in ARIZONA (or who knows where and they didn't know their state abbreviations) that it happens every spring and I should wear gloves to protect my hands when I visit my unit. I requested pest control specifically for chiggers and was told they have regular pest control that has been done, which obviously wasn't the right kind for these tiny biting egg laying mites. Six months for my hand to heal. I wasn't able to work at my unit because my hand was so covered in chigger bites. When I went to clear my unit, a year after the chigger incident, guess what. Door covered in tiny red bugs that you almost can't see. Like .5 mm and thousands of them from the bottom to the top. I was wearing gloves, but didn't have my legs protected. When I rolled up the door, guess what happened. The tiny red bugs called chiggers fell off the door and landed on my leg, and a day later my leg was covered in chigger bites. The only thing I can figure that makes sense for these bugs to be all over hot metal doors (I cruised the grounds, looking at all of the other doors, also crawling with teeny red dots) is someone is storing lawn care/brush hog equipment after mowing a chigger infested field, which goes against the rules I believe. Noone is ever on site, even though there is an occupied house on top of a section units. Must be a rental? I had to send someone up to take a picture of my empty unit with the unit number visible so I could send it to them, my notice over the weekend that I had moved out wasn't sufficient and they don't have people to go around during regular business hours and verify when someone moves out. Imagine moving out and traveling to move, and being told, nope, you gotta turn around and come back because we gotta have a picture or you're not moved out and we are going to charge you next month even though you've communicated with us that you have moved out. That was not my case, but imagine. I was actually at work and just couldn't get away to get the picture, so I called someone to go do it for me. 0 out of 0 stars would NOT recommend HiBoy. They also need a facelift. Blue paint is all faded and gutters all smashed. Highly recommend the U, just a couple miles up the road, as an alternative. The price is a little higher there, but, heh, you get what you pay for. ????? ... Read more

The customer service is a pleasure to deal with. Every thing transparent; you know what your in for. I have a unit and was able to exchange it for two adjacent units of the same size. I had used a nationally known moving and storage company. That company was difficult. ... Read more

Frequently Asked Questions

Storage units available at Hi-Boy Self Storage - 11600 Maumelle Blvd include the following amenities: Climate-Controlled, 24 hour access, Drive-Up Access, Onsite Manager, Gate, Parking and RV Storage. Depending on what you need to put away in storage, you can discover there are some things you absolutely need, so make sure you check with the facility manager that you'll find everything you need on site.

You already know how much stuff you need to put in self storage, so figuring out the unit size you need is the next step. Smaller units such as 5'x5' or 5'x10' spaces can usually be filled with the amount of items you would normally store in a closet: a few chairs and lamps, sports equipment, garden tools and some boxes.

Moving on to larger sizes, imagine the 10'x10' and 10'x15' units as similar to a bedroom or a living room – larger pieces of furniture, sturdier equipment and bicycles can fit here. Finally, a 10'x20' unit has enough space for the contents of a 3-bedroom house, while the larger 10'x30' space easily accommodates the contents of a loaded semi-truck.

Accessibility and quickness are key when it comes to storage, so drive-up storage units are generally regarded as very convenient. Pull your car right up to your storage space, load, unload, and you're good to go! However, if you're mostly storing temperature-sensitive items, you should rather consider indoor storage units.

Climate-controlled units maintain consistent temperatures and humidity levels all year round, making them perfect for all your sensitive items. Moisture and varying temperatures can damage a whole host of things, and that is why a lot of people choose to use climate-controlled units to store items like wooden furniture, electronics, artwork, documents and photographs, collectibles, antiques, etc. If the belongings you're storing are important to you, you should consider renting a climate-controlled unit.
