I kept my belongings with them for a couple of months while I was looking for a place to live. The lady working the front desk who helped me get my unit was extremely polite and helpful, and just downright pleasant to talk to. Prices and terms were reasonable – really, with the deal I got in on at the time, it was a downright steal. When I no longer needed their services, they gave me no hassle about clearing out and canceling. Meanwhile, I have some friends who keep a unit with them who were very late on a payment, and they were able to get it fixed without losing any of their belongings, which is way better than some places do. The unit itself was adequate, clean, easy to secure, and easy to access. Even though the unit was not heated or cooled, it was well enough insulated that it kept my belongings from experiencing rapid rises and falls in temperature – I checked on really hot days. Every individual having their own passcode into the lot was a nice touch to know who is going in and coming out. The broken spot in the parking lot did make getting down to my unit a bit of a pain, but I understand that things go wrong and it can take time to fix them. It was a minor inconvenience. Having to buy the lock was an extra expense I haven't had that other units, but now I have a nice lock I can continue to use if needed, and it will save me money if I have to get one of their units again. All in all, I'm impressed. The few complaints I have are minor nitpicks. If I need a storage unit in this area again, they will be my first choice. ... Read more

Wow! I wish every business was as nice to its customers. Joyce is the nicest. She was so thorough and walked us through all the options. She even drove us to the unit in the pouring rain without a complaint. Front lobby decorated like a cozy Halmark store. Unit was clean and larger than I expected. Great experience. Highly recommend. ... Read more

Not Recommended – Poor Experience I recently visited Keyport Self Storage, and I was really disappointed with the entire experience. The facility was not clean and didn’t seem well-maintained. The staff wasn’t helpful at all, and it felt like they didn’t care about customers’ needs. If you want a safe, clean place to store your belongings, I’d suggest looking elsewhere. This facility needs serious improvements in both customer service and upkeep. ... Read more

Frequently Asked Questions

Storage units available at Keyport Self Storage - 1660 North College Avenue include the following amenities: Indoor, Drive-Up Access, Onsite Manager, Contactless Renting, Security Camera, Gate, Parking, Credit Cards Accepted, Online Payment and RV Storage. Depending on what you need to put away in storage, you can discover there are some things you absolutely need, so make sure you check with the facility manager that you'll find everything you need on site.

You already know how much stuff you need to put in self storage, so figuring out the unit size you need is the next step. Smaller units such as 5'x5' or 5'x10' spaces can usually be filled with the amount of items you would normally store in a closet: a few chairs and lamps, sports equipment, garden tools and some boxes.

Moving on to larger sizes, imagine the 10'x10' and 10'x15' units as similar to a bedroom or a living room – larger pieces of furniture, sturdier equipment and bicycles can fit here. Finally, a 10'x20' unit has enough space for the contents of a 3-bedroom house, while the larger 10'x30' space easily accommodates the contents of a loaded semi-truck.

Accessibility and quickness are key when it comes to storage, so drive-up storage units are generally regarded as very convenient. Pull your car right up to your storage space, load, unload, and you're good to go! However, if you're mostly storing temperature-sensitive items, you should rather consider indoor storage units.

Climate-controlled units maintain consistent temperatures and humidity levels all year round, making them perfect for all your sensitive items. Moisture and varying temperatures can damage a whole host of things, and that is why a lot of people choose to use climate-controlled units to store items like wooden furniture, electronics, artwork, documents and photographs, collectibles, antiques, etc. If the belongings you're storing are important to you, you should consider renting a climate-controlled unit.
