UPDATE: The site manager Anna reached out to me shortly after posting my review and worked with the district manager to address my concerns noted below. Anna called back before the end of the day to let me know that they would be processing a $50 credit to my account as consideration for the issues with the sign-up promotion. While I still feel that the promotion as advertised is not what was received, it is in not due to a lack of communication and service from Anna, she was very sincere and apologetic for the misunderstanding. For that reason I edited the review and number of stars because it shouldn’t reflect poorly on her location or her management of the facility. Everything else I have experienced at the facility has been great, it is clean, our unit is climate controlled, and appears safe and secure. I will update this review if management resolves my issue, however, here’s how things have gone so far for the new unit I rented January 2, 2026. I rented the unit under a promotion offering first month rental for $1. Upon downloading the app after rental on January 2, I noted my first auto-pay was scheduled for March 1. Made sense, I paid the first month price and they would apply the $1 promo in month 2 (Feb) so my next payment wasn’t due until March. I planned on keeping the unit long term so I wasn’t worried about which month got the promotion. Then I got an e-mail on January 13 saying my rental was due and it was full price, to be taken out on February 1. I know for a fact the app said March 1, and thank goodness, I have a screenshot of that March 1 due date in case I need it for future legal action. I called the onsite office and after a few times on hold I was told that I didn’t click a button for the $1 promo (this is not true). Then the story changed to this was the last unit of that size so the promo wasn’t available (not true) but that I got a 3-month reduced rate instead (thankfully I got a contract that proves this was a lie also). I was told I would get a call back, which I did. The person I spoke with, Melissa, was very friendly throughout but unfortunately she was being told apparently lies by a district manager to pass on to me. When she called back she apologized for the “misunderstanding” which I guess is what they call it when they are caught scamming their customers. She said I would get a $50 credit, which was not satisfactory, but at least it would show good faith. So far, my account does NOT reflect this credit, I will be calling back today for an update. If they don’t resolve this I guess I’m cancelling and moving to another company. If they fix this, I will update this review, but for now, beware of promo scams from Public Storage. ... Read more

I had an absolutely deplorable experience with this Public Storage. Let me preface this review by saying I am not one to normally complain. I am extremely patient and to upset me this badly you have to egregiously mistreat me as a customer. Here is what happened: Without my knowledge, they changed the lock on my unit. When I went to the office during business hours, there was no one there. When I called repeatedly, no one answered. When someone finally reached back out to me after hours of no communication, their response to my concern was "Oh, yeah, we changed all the locks for a property renovation and sent out a mass email, but it didn't get delivered to everyone. Sorry about that." I was absolutely floored. They threw away the lock that was on my unit THAT I PAID FOR. Anyone could have gone into my unit without my knowledge due to their negligence. What they did is not only unethical but ILLEGAL. I am still unsure whether my belongings have been tampered with as it will take some time to go through, but the very fact that I am having to do so is absurd. The day this happened I was attempting to get into my unit to get an item for a trade valued at several thousand dollars. Since I was not able to access my unit due to Public Storage's complete disregard for me as a customer, I missed out on the trade. Needless to say, I immediately moved all of my belongings out of the unit once they gave me a key to the new lock they had put on there. Imagine this: You auto-pay your rent at your apartment every month. You're a great tenant who has been renting from your landlord for years. You have never caused any issues and you make their life a breeze. Out of nowhere, you come home one day and you urgently need to get something out of your apartment for work. The lock on your door has been changed, and you cannot access YOUR belongings for an entire day. This is the equivalent of what Public Storage did to me. Upon moving my things out of the unit, I noticed an unusual amount of tenants present at the property. When I voiced what had happened to me, they too said the exact same thing was done to them and their unit. There was a line of individuals moving their things out of their units due to Public Storage's absolutely disgusting behavior. I will ensure that if anyone ever asks me for a storage unit recommendation, I will encourage them to steer as far away from this facility as humanly possible. This is how class-action lawsuits are started. Shame on you, Public Storage. You will never again have my business, and I will share what you did to me with as many people as I possibly can. ... Frequently Asked Questions

Storage units available at Public Storage - 2262 Hillcrest Road include the following amenities: Climate-Controlled, Indoor, Drive-Up Access, Retail Available, Onsite Manager, Truck Rentals, Contactless Renting, Security Camera, Gate, Parking, Credit Cards Accepted, Elevators, First Floor Access, Online Payment and RV Storage. Depending on what you need to put away in storage, you can discover there are some things you absolutely need, so make sure you check with the facility manager that you'll find everything you need on site.

This particular storage facility provides self storage units of different sizes, ranging from 25 to 600 square feet. Space is not an issue! If you have more belongings to store, or simply bulkier items or even vehicles, you should go for larger storage units.

You already know how much stuff you need to put in self storage, so figuring out the unit size you need is the next step. Smaller units such as 5'x5' or 5'x10' spaces can usually be filled with the amount of items you would normally store in a closet: a few chairs and lamps, sports equipment, garden tools and some boxes.

Moving on to larger sizes, imagine the 10'x10' and 10'x15' units as similar to a bedroom or a living room – larger pieces of furniture, sturdier equipment and bicycles can fit here. Finally, a 10'x20' unit has enough space for the contents of a 3-bedroom house, while the larger 10'x30' space easily accommodates the contents of a loaded semi-truck.

Monthly prices for units offered by Public Storage - 2262 Hillcrest Road start from $36 and can go up to $240 for larger spaces.

Accessibility and quickness are key when it comes to storage, so drive-up storage units are generally regarded as very convenient. Pull your car right up to your storage space, load, unload, and you're good to go! However, if you're mostly storing temperature-sensitive items, you should rather consider indoor storage units.

Climate-controlled units maintain consistent temperatures and humidity levels all year round, making them perfect for all your sensitive items. Moisture and varying temperatures can damage a whole host of things, and that is why a lot of people choose to use climate-controlled units to store items like wooden furniture, electronics, artwork, documents and photographs, collectibles, antiques, etc. If the belongings you're storing are important to you, you should consider renting a climate-controlled unit.
