The women at the counter were polite, professional and friendly. The whole process was quick because of their knowledge of the process. Can't beat the prices for the size of the spaces. I got one that was not heated. ... Read more

Not super cheap nor super fancy, but such is the market for covered storage in Anchorage. Have used these guys a couple of times, and been universally pleased with their customer service... Every staff member has acted like they want to be helpful, which might seem like a low bar, but is enough to stand out from the crowd to me. And they'll refund a partial months rent if you vacate mid-month, which seems like the sort of common courtesy which ought be universal, but again, in my experience has not been. ... Read more

Would’ve loved to have given a good rating but unfortunately our experience wasn’t very pleasant. Started out with a storage unit that had mold in it (my fiancé could smell it right as we opened the door. We emailed the company about the issue and they moved us without a problem, until I walked in the hallway to get my air mattress out of our unit for my younger sister who was visiting& found a manager’s lock on it. When I called the office the guy basically accused us of moving without their permission but then I told him that they had moved us themselves and we wouldn’t have done that so he took the managers lock off. We moved into a new apartment and went to the storage unit to get some of our stuff, that’s when we found that a bunch of our stuff was soaked and there must’ve been water coming in from outside while the snow was melting. I emailed them about it and ended up moving all of our stuff out within the next few days because they really didn’t seem to care enough to even ask if our stuff was damaged or not and by the end of it just seemed eager for us to move anyway. I just hope in the future others have a better experience. ... Read more

I have been here 8 months now and this business is very good. They found a great unit for my needs. I did a sq. foot comparison and their prices were among the lowest in town. Their security is great as the owners seem to run a business there and are always present. They have the best discount for paying ahead 1 year AND they gave me a senior discount which starts at 55! I thought it was a little far from my midtown business, but the access to Dowling off of C street or Minnesota is very quick. The only down side is the 9 pm closing [7 days a week] which was no problem in the winter, but now that it is summer seems a little restrictive. I highly recommend this place. ... Read more

Frequently Asked Questions

Storage units available at Arctic Storage - 601 West 58th Avenue include the following amenities: Climate-Controlled, Indoor, Drive-Up Access, Retail Available, Onsite Manager, Truck Rentals, Security Camera, Gate, Parking, Credit Cards Accepted, Keyless Unit Access, Multi-Level Storage and RV Storage. Depending on what you need to put away in storage, you can discover there are some things you absolutely need, so make sure you check with the facility manager that you'll find everything you need on site.

You already know how much stuff you need to put in self storage, so figuring out the unit size you need is the next step. Smaller units such as 5'x5' or 5'x10' spaces can usually be filled with the amount of items you would normally store in a closet: a few chairs and lamps, sports equipment, garden tools and some boxes.

Moving on to larger sizes, imagine the 10'x10' and 10'x15' units as similar to a bedroom or a living room – larger pieces of furniture, sturdier equipment and bicycles can fit here. Finally, a 10'x20' unit has enough space for the contents of a 3-bedroom house, while the larger 10'x30' space easily accommodates the contents of a loaded semi-truck.

Accessibility and quickness are key when it comes to storage, so drive-up storage units are generally regarded as very convenient. Pull your car right up to your storage space, load, unload, and you're good to go! However, if you're mostly storing temperature-sensitive items, you should rather consider indoor storage units.

Climate-controlled units maintain consistent temperatures and humidity levels all year round, making them perfect for all your sensitive items. Moisture and varying temperatures can damage a whole host of things, and that is why a lot of people choose to use climate-controlled units to store items like wooden furniture, electronics, artwork, documents and photographs, collectibles, antiques, etc. If the belongings you're storing are important to you, you should consider renting a climate-controlled unit.
