great apartment, horrible staff

The apartments are very nice and spacious, unfortunately, is something breaks good luck getting it fixed. You pay extra for certain things (wash/dryer in apartment) and they havent worked for 6 months. Keep being told that they will be replaced but that never happens. Hard time getting hold of manager, rarely answers the phone.

Beautiful location

I have lived here for 15 months. I like the beautiful trees on the property and Lake Michigan across the street with green space, sidewalk, and sitting benches. I like the woods behind the building and the Dekoven Center grounds next door. I like the old historical neighborhood north of the property. It is close to downtown and to shopping on Durand Ave. The location is great. The building itself leaves me something to be desired. The ceiling tiles in the hallways near my apartment are often out and that doesn't look good. The place definitely has water problems. My windows in the winter are wet and have frost on the inside and then mold. If I don't sit to close to them, I don't feel too cold. Sometimes it takes a long time to have my maintenance issues addressed. The parking spaces in the parking lot are too narrow. The hallways near my apartment are marred up and could use washing and or painting and drywall repairs. I have found the maintenance in apartment living is often shoddy. I don't know if they can help it because of cost which is mentioned by management over complaints, and I assume the time it would take. So this is all below average to average about living here. I have enjoyed the friendliness of the people that live in this community and the social opportunities they offer. I have also enjoyed the gardening plots that they offer here. I like that they allow dogs and cats for a reasonable cost if you're here for a significant time.
