Applications can be denied or delayed for a number of reasons, including incomplete information, unsuccessful fee payments, or screening results that do not meet the property’s requirements. If your application hasn’t been approved yet, your identity may not have been confirmed during the process. When this happens, the property manager is notified and may follow up with you directly.

You can check your application status by logging into your RentCafe account, or contact the property management office directly for more details.

Other reasons why your application may be delayed:

    • A co-applicant was invited by email but hasn’t completed their part of the application yet — if the invite link isn’t clickable, they may need to copy and paste it into their browser
    • Your ID is still being reviewed, or the file you uploaded was too large. Try uploading a smaller or compressed image if needed
    • Your bank account hasn’t been verified yet. This is sometimes required as part of the application — check your bank’s app or website to confirm any pending verification steps
    • The property manager is still reviewing your submission — this process typically takes a few business days

    FAQ

Q: How long does the application review take?

A: The property manager typically responds within a couple of days, though screening itself can take longer in some states — for example, up to a week in California — so timelines vary by location.

Q: What happens if my co-applicant hasn’t completed their section?

A: Your application will be on hold until all co-applicants have submitted their information. Confirm that your co-applicant received their invitation email and was able to open it.

Q: What if my ID upload didn’t go through?

A: Check that your file size is not too large before attempting to upload again. If the issue persists, contact the property for further instructions.
