The Current Apartments

After living in Monona for 40 years, it is nice to have a nice alternative after selling my home. I have a beautiful 2 bedroom corner unit and I love it! Hign ceilings and lots of sunshine. The amenities are wonderful and there is always something going on here. I love being on the river and so close to the bike path. I am going on year 3 and it is really a great place to live :)

Needs improvement

When I moved in, this felt like luxury living for a community of young professionals. Now, it feels like college housing for a hefty price in need of improvements. 1. Cleanliness. Since the new building opened up, the overall cleanliness of the current 1 has been neglected and lease agreements are not being enforced. There have been feces in the hallway, urine in the elevator, carts left in hallways and elevators, flags hung from balconies, music blasting from neighbors into the night, parking spaces blocked off, the aroma of weed wafting through the halls, etc. 2. Community events. The property could do more to build community and connect tenants: coffee bar, community brunch, etc. 3. Amenities. Current 1 amenities could use some upgrading. Fencing around the dog area out back, additional equipment in the gym (elliptical, bosu balls), and a timer on the community fireplace that often gets left on are a few ideas that come to mind.

Review

I have lived at the Current for 7 months. I have had good interactions with the staff, and the tenants I have met seem friendly. Any time I have had to ask maintenance for service they have been timely and skilled. A couple things I would like to see improved would be figuring out ways to ensure tenants clean up after their dogs, and that they return the carts.
