It's a great place overall. The location above the state park, next to Main St, next to the interstate, and next to a public transit hub are all excellent. Donuts on Friday are great too. Main concern is safety, as there's been a number of package, car, and bike thefts. That said, newer management has gotten much more communicative about these incidents than in the past.

I've lived at the Merc for two years, and during that time I've seen a lot of staff come and go, and a lot of iterations of involvement (or lack thereof) from management/staff. The current staff/management has made a WORLD of difference at the property. It's clean, comfortable, organized, communicative, and feels like a community rather than a building. Thank you!

The cost per square foot is somewhat higher than neighboring complexes, but I knew that going in. When they are available, the staff is usually polite and helpful. However, they are not consistently in the offices during business hours (i.e. 9-5 M-F). Also, the coffee machine is frequently unavailable, 1-2x a week for various reasons, sometimes as trivial as needing a new jug of water. However if no one is around to fix it, residents have to make due without.

It took 2 different managers for them to address a neighbor allowing his dog to poop & pee all over the patio. Its been 6 months and a lawsuit later and i still see the dog pee on the patio all the time. The property rules clearly state that dogs are not allowed in the common areas like the roof deck & lounge and someone has their dog up there almost every time i try to use the space. I am highly allergic and cannot comfortably use the space when others cant be held accountable for breaking the rules. I had to make a maintenance request to alert them to rotting pumpkins in the rec room even though they tour the space daily. Its now been 11 weeks since i first reported a noise issue that first seemed like it was coming from below me -banging at all hours that sounded like sneakers in the dryer or a loud rowing machine- but since it has gone ignored it is now like a garbage truck shaking a dumpster directly over my bedroom, sometimes for 20hrs+ straight per day, days jn a row. They have been "unavailable" the times Ive asked them to come listen to it or closed altogether. The noise is most severe at night. I kept track of it and it is noticable & keeps me awake when winds are 5 mph, and its hard to function at all or even sleep on the other end of the apartment because it's so loud when wind is 10mph or higher. Our one maintenance worker is only on until 4pm, M-F and isnt allowed on the roof and now the leasing staff are closed an extra day per week (staffing problems?) only open Tues-Sat but unavailable to respond to emails or concerns. I like my apartment, i like where i live and i dont want to move but i need to be able to sleep in the space i pay for (and they are increasing rent on)without having to drag my mattress onto the floor in the living room while wearing earplugs and noise cancelling headphones & still hearing banging. Don't recommend
