If I can fulfill even a fraction of my social responsibility, let it be this: do not rent at Vue22. I’m writing this to save you years of frustration and thousands of dollars. I’ve lived here for three years, and I’ve been mentally writing this review the entire time. Living here felt like being in a relationship with a scorned ex—only more expensive and less apologetic. When you finally leave, it’s not freedom—it’s a financial mugging dressed up as a final invoice. 1. Insane Utility Costs & Add-Ons • My base rent for a 1B1B was $2,409. • With a garage spot: $2,534. • But my actual monthly charges were ~$2,830–2,835, even when I wasn’t in the country. Breakdown: • Apr ’25: $2,833 (Utilities & Add-ons: $299) • Mar ’25: $2,830 (Add-ons: $296) • Feb ’25 (I was in India): $2,834 (Add-ons: $300) • Jan ’25 (Still in India): $2,831 (Add-ons: $297) And no, these don’t include electricity or internet. Electricity is separate (~$50/month via PSE). Vue22 uses a billing practice that spreads common area utility costs across all residents, regardless of use or presence. Even when your unit is empty, you’re billed as if you’re running a laundromat full-time. If you’re comparing this place to Modera or Hyde Square thinking Vue22 is “cheaper”—look again. 2. Move-Out Madness: A Final Blow After three years, here’s how Vue22 said goodbye: • $750 for painting (only one wall had minor scuffs) • $225 for cleaning • $150 for “trash out” ? Total: $1,125 When I disputed these charges, they increased the painting fee to $880 and cleaning to $275 and sent fabricated invoices listing my 1B1B unit as a 2x2. This isn’t just shady—it’s deceitful. And it’s not just me—ask around, check reviews. This is a recurring pattern. Oh, and when there was a break-in at the bike locker and several residents’ bikes were stolen.
