Cheap, but good location
Pros: Great location-really close to a lot of things you could ask for/need, neighbors are pretty friendly, maintenance staff is pretty good at coming and fixing what needs to be fixed in a timely manner, lower price than most apartment complexes in the area. Cons: Biggest downside: Walls are extremely thin (you can hear every footstep, every appliance your neighbor uses, every time the toilet flushes, every step in the bathtub-made out of loud plastic-, and even hear your neighbor sneezing), ground maintenance has gone way downhill-no one picks up after their dogs so you really have to watch your step and not a ton of upkeep, just the bare minimum-, they claim they are smoke free, but someone in my unit always smokes and they haven't done a thing about it, occasionally can smell marijuana, no cameras on sight for security, the amenities they offer have limitations (i.e. the laundry, pool, or fitness center don't open until 10am, not very helpful if you want to get in a morning workout before going to work), my apartment wasn't properly cleaned when I moved in, there was still animal hair in the carpet (good thing I don't have pet allergies, but that would be an issue if someone did!) and small holes in the wall that weren't fixed before I moved in. All things considered, the price is cheaper, but you will pay with the downsides. The biggest downside is the thinness of the walls, as someone who works from home 80% of the time, this can be extremely tricky, and your sleep will also suffer if you aren't on the top floor (but even then it could suffer if your neighbor complains about your alarm clock-good luck figuring that one out!). For me the experience just kept going downhill, started out okay, but got worse over time, so I won't renew my lease and will find somewhere else where the walls are a bit thicker so I can work and sleep with more peace than this place.
