Welcome to the newly renovated Montgomery Building. Centrally located in the heart of downtown Spartanburg one block from Morgan Square, residences of the iconic Montgomery Building are surrounded by a world of arts, culture, learning, restaurants and businesses. Listed on the National Register of Historic Places, this restored landmark features Sidewall Pizza Restaurant, Pharmacy Coffee Shop, boutiques, office spaces, 63 spacious studio apartments and one- and two-bedroom apartments on floors 4-10. Each downtown apartment ranges in size between 471 SF to 1,350 SF and mixes original architectural elements with high-end modern amenities. History:
Built in 1924, The Montgomery Building was designed by Lockwood Greene & Company. The Montgomery family, for whom the building was named, was a leader of the post-1920s textile industry for over 150 years. In addition to cotton broker and factory offices, it housed a radio station and historic theatre, which featured an interior box office, balcony and thirty-six-foot proscenium. Until the 1950s, this Chicago skeletal frame construction skyscraper was Spartanburg’s tallest building.

Excellent place to live in the hub of downtown Spartanburg
This is a great place to live for anyone who wants to be within walking distance of downtown. The apartments have amazing large windows that gaze out into the city and are stylish with hardwood floors. Each room has their own A/C unit so you can adjust the temperature to your preference for each room. The apartment comes with a gym too in the basement. There is a great coffee and pizza shop downstairs and some upscale salons. The only issue would be the noise since this is at the intersection of two busy streets, which usually is not bad unless Harley's or cars with screaming eagle pipes roll by (which they do every night).
DON’T DO IT
Top dollar prices for sub-par service & property. Looks pretty & nice on the surface but they cut corners everywhere. AC doesn’t work, their answer ‘keep your blinds closed’, no dryer vents so can’t use conventional units & it take HOURS for anything to dry, & the ‘new’ management is on par for the DMV!
