Nice and Quiet, but...
I really like the feel of the community where my apartment is. Because of its age and the saved trees it feels more like a home then a complex. The amenities...the pool is not big enough, the furniture is cheap, and the leak by the ladder has been going on for years. The clubhouse is never really open, nor is it inviting. The gym is for people over 60 years old, and is terribly small. Tennis court? Lol. The "gated community" is almost NEVER gated. The gates have never worked properly and apparently you can't find someone to fix them. The new management company is not available, though they are very nice. The maintenance, though I have had only one real issue, takes forever. For the money spent, this has turned into not such a good deal. And for the age of the complex and the aforementioned issue...it really should be one of the cheapest on this end of Mount Pleasant.
Overall, it's fine...
Part-timing here for business. Lots of different office people from the time I first signed in to now (Dec. 21 - March 22). The old staff was a little better about answering email, but I know everyone is new and acclimating, like myself. A little disappointing - I just had a late rent payment (2 days) because the complex also just got bought out and I wasn't certain whether or not to use the old portal or a new one - but can't get an answer... So now I have a late fee. Overall, the unit is fine. I like the location. There is apparently no insulation between the floors, so the neighbors downstairs can hear us. A few upgrades could stand to be made (windows rusting, super-dated bath fixtures, formica countertops, small water heater, carpet has seen better days, etc.), but I like the layout and there is enough space for me and a guest. I do like being on the north end of Mt. P., everything I need is just a block or two away. Neighbors keep to themselves, but generally most people are relatively friendly when you're outside. I hear the rent is going up with the new ownership and that they won't make any upgrades until you move out, so if my rent goes up without any upgrading, that might be an issue. Not typically a complainer, but they really wow you with the model, then it's just ok when you get your unit. May update review after I've been here a little longer :)
