Review
Location is great. I love how walkable Sellwood is. My apartment faces 17th and the road noise is pretty loud; if you get an apartment on the other side of the building it is quieter. The walls are thin so sounds from neighbors are heard often. Urgent maintenance needs are addressed quickly, non-urgent are not. Overall a good place to live.
great neighborhood in a mediocre building
I absolutely love living in Sellwood but since the building I live in was sold the living situation has gone very quickly downhill and the prices have risen hundreds of dollars. They have 'supplied' fire pits to the roof area and removed all of our old furniture but refused to buy propane for the pits. When I spent 75.00 on propane myself they made me promise not to share with other tenants and keep it in my apartment. There was a pile of dog poop on one of the stair cases for over a month. The 'gardeners' commonly leave piles of dirt and wood chips in the cooridors and elevator while the management is sending everyone notices not to 'smoke near the entrance' to the building. I'm not a smoker but these priorities are messed up.
