Nice, but not really
I have lived here since March of 2024. I understand it's a new property with growing pains, but the management company is not new to scene. First off let me say the employees have been great if i have any issues. None of this is their fault but Lets start with the "luxury living" they advertise. Formica countertops that aren't even completely attached to the cabinets. Stainless steel sinks that are so shallow you might as well have towels all around it. I was advised that the builder had Quartz on backorder and they decided to switch I'm sure at a huge savings without lowering the starting rent. Oh and lets not forget my bathroom sink was not secured or silicone so it moved freely and when i requested they caulk it, i found they used my bath towel to clean up the silicone and just left it back on my rack. I have pictures. That's my main gripe on that. Next lets move into the trash compactor. EVERY weekend it jams up you end up with huge pile of trash and cardboard around the ramp. Honestly i have way more but they don't allow more space to type. The area is being developed so i understand the construction of homes around us. No big deal. But be aware they start at 5am and don't finish until after dark. The pool is way too small for the occupancy. The gym is a bright spot, never used the tanning bed and the driving range is fun but only if you like golf. I'm sure i could go further but again I'm limited. For the price, it's not worth it. The finishes they used really puts this down on the list for me especially after i found out the changes that were made to speed things up. However....... It is very quiet but that might just be my location. The parking is great and tons of spots. So far i have the best neighbors and i really don't hear much. I REALLY didn't want to make this review but i kept getting asked to make one so here is my honest opinion. Sorry. A lot could be done to make this place great but it's not, at least not yet.
Awesome value
We recently moved in, but so far, we have loved living at the North Star Flats. Staff is very friendly and helpful, and apartments are built very well and the amenities are SO NICE! Neighbors recently moved in under us and we haven't heard a thing. So far, we love it and would highly recommend!
Northstar Flats
I have lived here for around 2 months now and while there is construction going on still, it's relatively quiet. Helps I'm on a 3rd floor. Parking has been ok. It's first come first serve, however a neighbor has a few vehicles along with a couple big trailers that seem to take up a lot of room. So far it hasn't been an issue but once the place starts filling up with tenants then it will be. Mail is still a problem, as the mailboxes are not set up yet due to a post office issue? So our mail is left on the counter in the lobby of the club house. Not the best scenario but it has been ok so far. Package delivery is hit or miss as well as they have a secure package area, however it's not always accessible and it seems like the delivery drivers know nothing about it and i get most of my packages at my door. These are all just growing pains for a new complex I'm sure, but oakwood has been around a while and they have many many complexes around so one would think opening a new complex would be figured out by now. The people in the club office though are super amazing and go above and beyond to help anyone out. So far it's been a great experience with some minor inconveniences that will get sorted out I'm sure.
