Vermella is a great apartment, I really enjoy living here, the only thing for me is I find commute too far for me taking the path train

From the outside, Vermella Harrison looks to be a luxurious place to live. But once you move in, the place has obvious infrastructure issues due to the building opting for quick and cheap fixes to maintain appearances for prospective new tenants. The first month I moved here in November 2020, the building was evacuated three times due to water pipe issues. Each month thereafter, there was either a building evacuation or fans in the hallways due to a pipe bursting in a tenant’s unit. On the 5th floor, it's common for water to pour through the hallway ceilings when there's heavy rain - the fix for this, buckets and a good old paint job. Despite a town hall meeting the tenants demanded with Russo Management, the problems have continued. In the 5 years I’ve lived here, I’ve heard countless stories from my neighbors about pipes bursting and leaks in their apartments. Recently, a pipe burst in the ceiling of my apartment resulting in approximately 3 inches of water covering every inch of my 2-bedroom apartment. My belongings were ruined and my family and I were forced to live in a hotel for over 2 weeks. Property Manager Antisha M. indicated I would be reimbursed for the hotel stay. Now, however, Russo refuses to pay or take accountability for the damage despite this is the second time the pipe has burst and the entire situation was handled in a manner that clearly indicates Russo/Vermella has no concern about tenants and is simply concerned with their bottom line $. Clearly, there is a problem with the building's infrastructure, particularly as it pertains to plumbing and water heaters. Staff turnover is frequent and current staff has very little knowledge of building management and shows no interest in learning. I HIGHLY recommend looking elsewhere for an apartment. Don’t believe their website for a second - “nothing short of exceptional”? Nothing could be further from the truth.

I've lived here 2 years and have greatly enjoyed my time. Other than a few minor issues with amenities, like TVs not working or equipment missing from the gym, I have no complaints. The staff is helpful and friendly, and maintenance is extremely responsive.
