I’ve been a resident at The Ivanhoe for over a decade. The location is convenient and the building has potential, but my experience has included significant concerns that prospective renters should know. Pest control: I encountered bedbugs that appeared to be coming from the ceiling near a light fixture in my unit. I reported it and requested remediation. Situations like this require fast, thorough treatment and proactive building-wide prevention. Management & maintenance: Communication is inconsistent, especially when management changes. Long-standing issues often need to be re-explained, and some repair work has been incomplete or caused additional problems. Lease & fees: At renewal, I was asked to sign a new lease with an 80% increase to the security deposit, which felt excessive and unexpected. I’ve stayed this long because parts of the building do feel like home, but the combination of pest concerns, policy changes, and inconsistent follow-through has been frustrating. The Ivanhoe could be a much better place to live with stronger continuity, transparent policies, and proactive building maintenance. If you’re considering moving in, I recommend asking specific questions about pest protocols, deposit requirements, and response timelines before you sign.

Management

I am hoping you take this into consideration as many thing were promised and not taken into account. Poor decision making on management and no consideration and being very rude with tenants. This is not a luxury building as advertised as many things are old inside the units. Maybe you can reach out and we can discuss.
