Nice Place to Live

Overall, this has been a nice place to live. The apartment building is clean and well taken care off. People are friendly and it is close proximity to nice walking trails and other local amenities.

Compromise

I have lived here for half a year and the property has only had staff for 2 of those months. It is a non-smoking building, yet many people smoke in their units and on their balconies; the hallways usually smell of cigarette smoke and if you want to open your windows on nice days you are going to breath in secondhand smoke. It took me 3 weeks to get a router from the management so I could have internet, 90% of the time my phone calls and emails are never responded to, and I was not able to leave the parking garage after a snow fall until after 11am because it was not plowed resulting in missed work. The complex itself is generally quiet and rent is affordable.

No on-site management & little on-site maintenance

I have been here 5-1/2 months. It's a new building but it often looks like it's being trashed. At least in the hallways, elevator lobby, & garage. Also it's not secure! The front doors to the lobby have been standing open many times when I go down for my mail...tho no one is coming or going! I've tried to pull them shut, but they won't budge. The garage door was doing the same thing often, tho I haven't seen that lately. The walk-in door next to the garage door stood open about 12" for a couple of weeks, at least. It would no longer close! So anyone/anything could come into the garage. It's just not being taken care of! But not surprising when there are seldom managers here & the same with maintenance people. The garbage dumpster in the garage is generally overflowing...the same with the recycling bin. And the garage space next to mine generally has wastepaper/candy wrappers lying on the floor. I wouldn't recommend anyone move into a CDA building at this point! (I lived at The Crossings for 13 years & we never had issues like this! It was a great place to live. And that's why I've had my name on the waiting list there for the past 2 years...& I'm keeping it on that list. I'll move out of here the first chance I get!)
