I love how quiet my apartment in the New Flats building is, and the amenities are the nicest I've seen in an apartment building. The location in NE Minneapolis is wonderful and surrounded by many restaurants and bars. The staff have always been very kind and understanding, as well. I do have issues with a couple things: - The Flats building is not handicap accessible at all. None of the entrances have door opening buttons, making it inaccessible to wheelchair users and others with mobility disabilities. - There is no secure bike storage. A key fob accessible room or bike lockers for bike storage in a place that is easily accessed by bikes would increase bike security.

I have lived at 700 Central for 3 years and love the ambience, the old world charm of the building and its history. Maintenance is excellent and management wonderful. I would recommend renting here

I am very happy with almost everything with this apartment, the only drawback is the sound transfer between ceiling/floors and noise outside. I can almost make out what my upstairs neighbor is saying when talking in a normal voice and you can hear TVs easily on low volume. I'm not sure it meets the local code for STC 45 rating, as hearing normal speaking volume is around 30. It doesn't seem nearly as bad between walls. The windows don't seem an adequate thickness for being in a high-traffic area, and I've had to put draft stopping tape along edges to minimize drafts and heat loss, but it still is much colder near them than rest of apartment and I can hear people talking outside in normal voices. Because the rest of the apartment attributes are so great, I'm trying to get used to it but it is an issue with privacy.. if the complex consulted an expert to determine if there are any mitigation efforts available that would be at least partially successful it would go along way.

I have lived here for a year and a half and have enjoyed it thoroughly. Margaret and Molli are fabulous to work with and are incredibly efficient. This is one of the best apartment buildings I've ever lived in!
