The staff at Drakes Pond Apartments have been very helpful since I moved in nearly a year ago. DelAnn helped me before I even came to Kalamazoo. Over the phone she guided me in selecting an apartment and explaining any details. When I finally met her in person, she continued to be helpful with advice for my move-in. Jessie has been lovely and has kindly answered my many questions. She also has helped to arrange for staff to help get heavy packages to my apartment. Lori has always been friendly, reminding me of upcoming Happy Hour events. Lori and Jessie act as if they truly enjoy arranging Happy Hour for residents. I go whenever possible because it's a great way to meet some neighbors and feel more at home. Finally, Dan has been so helpful in a number of ways. He helped conduct the annual inspection of my apartment, complimented how my place looked, and answered many questions. (I like to know how things work and whom to contact about various issues.) Dan also supervised my signing a renewal lease for 18 months. I won't do better than Drake's Pond and might as well stay!

Mu family has lived here for over 7 yrs. It's very expensive. The building is NOT insulated at all. My slider door leaks air so much, if the temp is below 60 outside, the heat runs constantly. That's with 2 layers of plastic up. They have known this officially since July 29 2024, and it is now Oct and the door has NOT been replaced. They canceled the contractor because it was too expensive. That's too bad. By law they have to fix it. Yet they are not. Everytime I call, they tell me it's been ordered. It hasn't. We have lived here for over 7 yrs, have put in about 4 work orders. 1 was to replace water heater; one was to replace coils in heater. Location is ok. For over $1700 plus heat and water, it's way too much to have to force them to fix necessities. The hallway for the building is the same temp as the outside. So in the winter, we have to put towels at the bottom of our door to the hallway to try to stop cold air.

It has only been one month, but the good outweighs the bad so far. Great response from staff and maintenance. Not enough carports/garages; hallways smell and the walls are thin. And everything is expensive right now so some of that cant be helped when you live in apartments

So far this has been a great place yo live:) The office ataff amd majntenance are super friendly snd helpful! The apartments are made well as we cannot hearbiur neighbors through the walls:)
