Excellent Choice!

I have been here a few years now. THANK GOD WE HAVE NO PESTS!!!! Overall, the location is accessible to stores, work, beltway and they keep the community immaculate. We moved here during the memorial day weekend (2021). I was immediately impressed by how the trash area, the grounds and the buildings/hallways were extremely clean. In fact, they clean the halls daily. I LOVE IT! I also love that the unit was impressively clean when I moved in (new new new). I enjoy living here. Quiet. And maintenance responds immediately (heart). My only concern is the parking when you have 2 vehicles. We do have one resident reserved parking space. A few years ago, we had reserved parking and a visitor's sticker to park in a visitor's space but now we have to pay $6/per day if we want to park one of the cars in a visitor's space OR if we have a visitor they have to pay. Unfortunately, residents from all 3 surrounding apartments have the same parking issue so we compete for the limited parking on a street where people come speeding through and crash into the parked cars and cars on street are more likely to experience break-in with few witnesses. So you pay rent, electric (pepco) (around $100-$200+), apartment utilities ($60) and if you park in a visitor's space ( it's an additional $6/per day = $180/per month). Overall, I am very happy with the community because I feel safe and the neighbors look out for each other.

Not too bad but could better

Southern managment is a pretty decent company to work with and theyll work with you. I just feel like they can do alot better with the pest control and amenites inside the homes.

Thanks for a good twelve years plus!

The first 8 years of living here in the apartment had been beyond peaceful. All the action went up the hill towards the other apartment complexes during those years, no trouble that I know of went on in Capital View. Bladensburg high school across the street is pretty tame for a high school. This last 4 years has seen a decline in resident behaviors, a lack of respect from the younger teen age generation that has moved in capital view and dog pooper problems started being a big issue even up to now. Communication from management is very good. I have come to know names and faces through the years. The maintenance crew is awesome!
