Out of Control Dormitory

The building itself is great. Nice units, amazing location with parking and good amenities. It needs in-unit laundry for this level and expense. The main issue with the building is that I have learned (after the fact) that the building is occupied overwhelmingly by business school students. The resident behavior during the academic year is atrocious with loud parties, public drunkenness, and illicit drug use almost nightly when school is in session. The noise is unrelenting. I have enjoyed listening to students talk about their cocaine while outside my door at 3am on a weeknight. The bottom line is that 1008 Mass is a great building in a great location. Management could be charging almost double the rent (and you would get it) if the residents behaved like adults. However, prior management (Boston Residential Group, which was the worst I have ever encountered) and current staff have allowed the building to descend into an out of control summer camp for entitled and badly behaved graduate students. I am a very busy professional. I have lived in luxury buildings all over Boston and NYC. If someone had told me that the prior management and staff was turning a blind eye to this sort of behavior I would never have moved into 1008. Serious adults should avoid this building unless the new management chooses to take corrective action and make 1008 Mass into the "luxury' building that it should be/once was.

Solid Property Near Harvard

I have lived here for 1 year and plan to live here for at least another year as a student at Harvard. The building is clean, well-maintained, with spacious apartments and nice amenities in the unit. It is relatively centrally located, 10 min walk from each Harvard Square and Central Square, and a 20-minute walk to Harvard Business School.
