Okay very nice

Overall great place to live. Could use some update in the kitchen. Love the updated wood floors. Could be better on winter snow removal on sidewalks and where car is parked, salt and shovel sideways more.

Maintenance

Snow and ice removal is very very poor. Had to shovel my own sidewalk and stairs a few days ago. It would appear that the safety of the maintenance crew is more important than elderly tenants

Patrick's Review of Shawnee Lake Apartments

All in all my son has had a good experience living here. The management has definitely improved since Trudy has taken over the reigns!! She really gets things done with the limitation of what she can get approved. The only complaint I would have is that in the 10+ years my son has lived there - he has had no real upgrades to his apartment. We have personally paid for new carpeting, new flooring, a new refrigerator, a new stove hood, new light fixtures. He has a stove that is nearly 20 years old and doesn't keep a constant temperature in the oven along with burners that are difficult to clean and "rickety". We have personally stained his deck and painted his apartment at our expense. It appears that longevity in renting is not rewarded. We love the location as he is disabled and he is close to our house. He is a heart patient and the proximity to the Lake Shawnee walking path is a plus for him.
