Please Don't, It's Not Worth It

I have lived here for 1 year, in a 1 bedroom 1 bath in building E. I pay ~$1600 for rent. This is my honest review. I provide a bullet point list, followed by a description of my experience: Pros: - coffee shop near by - walking distance to river - cool view of the cliffs when outside - can rent bikes and paddle boards for free - nice and modern apartments with big windows - 1 - 2 months free on rent, depending on contract length Cons: - dishonest staff - busy neighborhood - steep late fee of $75 - poor access to apartment - unwillingness to cooperate with client on issues - multiple attempts to charge me more then what I owe for rent - near a very noisy intersection (can be hard to sleep sometimes) - $50-$60 of extra fees on top of rent (they will not tell you about this) - rent is not actually 1 - 2 months free, but slightly less (like about 3 1/2 weeks or 7 1/2 weeks) I have received dishonest and malice behavior from the staff. These below experiences are heavily effecting my review: - Was told rent was do on the 5th, but it's actually the 4th. When I paid I was told the 5th "is the late day" and was charged a $75 late fee. - due to the grace period to pay rent, I sometimes don't get my check in time thus I have to pay the late fee. They refuse to move the due date or increase the grace period. - they attempted to charge me for an extra month of rent. I stopped them. They also tried to double my late fee one time. The neighborhood is extremely busy and noisy most of the time. Due to the big windows, even inside your apartment you hear what's going on outside. Their are apartments that offer more for the same price or less, in more peaceful neighborhoods. This place is like fools-gold. It appears to be awesome, but ultimately is not worth it. Their business practices are also greedy and staff is dishonest. It makes living here stressful when it should be enjoyable. Because of this, I find the rent to be overpriced and I regret moving here.

So Far An Exceptional Experience

The staff supported my needs for a quick turnaround on my lease application and move-in. Upon move-in I had a minor request which was addressed within minutes. The property is located adjacent to beautiful walking/biking paths along the water with neighboring beaches, and public parks. A few minutes walk along the water and you're in the city. Competent, kind staff; beautiful location; and to date no issues with neighbor noise. As a new tenant, I'm hopeful the experience will be consistent through the term of my lease.

Very Loud

Very Loud. If you prefer living in a loud area and a loud space, choose Bo. Some may be moving from larger cities where traffic noises are a good thing. For me, it was not. There is a traffic circle right next to Bo Apartments and even with the windows closed, the sounds from the vehicles exiting the roundabout to head up the hill right next to the apartments is very loud. If you want to live next to speedway sounds, this will be a good fit. The people giving you the tour (Sondra or the other lady) will not let you know to open the windows to hear how loud it is. Make sure you do so during your tour so you can hear the level of noise coming from Seltice Way. The buildings have breezeways (stairwells) that are entered through doors requiring key fobs. However, the doors do not close properly and slam very loudly, shaking the entire building, then end up ajar. Be sure to look at how many of the doors that lead into the breezeways are ajar when you do a tour of this complex. The doors to each unit also slam loudly and shake the buildings, unless carefully closed by each tenant as they enter/exit (which doesn't happen often). All in all, it is a loud place to live. Even wearing earplugs at night, I can hear the noises of the loud road and the doors slamming. And no earplugs decrease the vibrations you will feel when the doors slam as you sit at home trying to read a book or have a good conversation. The HPAC (AC and heating) units in each unit are very inefficient. They do not automatically detect the temperate in the unit and do not shut off to save energy and tenants' energy bill costs. They are also loud. When cooling the apartments, they put out a very high-frequency ringing noise that will even scare animals. Gnats enter consistently through the openings in the screens. Its is a loud and cheaply made complex. You will have much more peace of mind and quiet choosing a different complex.

Great Location

This is an amazing location right next to the river. The apartment complex is quiet. The open concept space is great and very modern.
