Shoreview At Baldwin Park

I rarely leave negative reviews, but my experience at Shoreview completely changed my mind about renting here. The leasing assistant I had been communicating with before my tour was friendly, helpful, professional, and took the time to answer my questions. Unfortunately, every interaction involving the property manager was the complete opposite. Throughout the tour, the property manager came across as rude, hostile, aggressive, and dismissive. She repeatedly spoke down to both me and her own staff, which made the entire experience uncomfortable. The moment that made me decide to leave happened when I asked about the property's dog breed restrictions and how they apply to service animals. Before I could even finish my question, the property manager interrupted me and began listing banned breeds in a confrontational tone. I clarified that I was asking about service animals. She asked whether I currently had one, and when I answered that I don't right now but may need one in the future, her response was essentially, "Well then we aren't going to accept it." I wasn't asking for special treatment or trying to argue policy I was simply asking a question so I could understand the community's rules before deciding where to live. The way she handled the conversation was unnecessarily rude, aggressive and dismissive. At that point, I had heard enough. I ended the tour early and walked out because I no longer had any interest in living in a community where management treats prospective residents or staff that way. It's unfortunate because the property itself seemed nice, and the leasing assistant was excellent. However, management plays a huge role in your experience as a resident, and based on how I was treated during a simple apartment tour, I couldn't justify signing a lease here under current management.

Was a great starter apartment. As time has gone on I've outgrown it but not bad as a first place

The new management is doing an excellent job of maintaining and improving the property.

Its ok, rent high for bad ammenities and stsff

I've only been living here for a month and so far so good. Any maintenance I've needed to be completed was taken care of immediately. Staff has been fantastic. I will update a few months down the road.
