Review
People park in the handicap spots even though they are not handicapped, leaving no space for the people that are. People smoke in doors when they know it's not allowed (it is in the contract). People leave the lobby a mess whether it be trash everywhere or their drinks or food. Overall, they are not respectful. The managers switch jobs every 6 months, so far I think we have had 3 property managers. The people who use the roof are disrespectful, they slam things around not caring about the people living on the fourth floor. The paint on the walls is so cheap, the place was not built correctly a lot of water damage. It just looks like they built this place in 4 months thats how cheap it looks. God forbid you want to go to the grocery store because it takes like 20-30 minutes to even get out of Hartford due to the traffic. There were also multiple car break ins, so if you have a nice car I suggest not living in the Hartford area.
Nice units, helpful staff, but still in need of improvement
I have been living in the same unit for the last two years, this is an account of my experience: Pros: The units are nice, clean, and functional. - The heating/air-conditioning unit are functional and consistent. - The washer and dyer are similarly functional, though possibly not as consistent. (Dryer often needs to be set at highest setting to dry clothes and washer occasionally needs to be reset) - The windows are large and offer great exposure to sunlight. - The stove/ stove top and microwave are functional and consistent. - All outlets are functional. Cons: - The sound from the hallways, in both directions, is very clear. I.e. You can clearly hear from across the hall the noise from inside the units, and you can clearly hear noise from the hall in the units. Noise of other units from inside the unit are, however, not audible. - The sink is quite small, barley wide enough to fit a large pan. The sink height is fixed, further highlighting this issue. - General lack of storage area. No closet in studio apartment. - Low-quality construction in some areas (grout lining in showers, screws drilled through cabinets, flimsy fixtures). - Parking street lamps of equal height to second story, perfectly illuminating the unit throughout the night. - Amenities, of which they are two, low capacity. Unable to support even a fraction of all tenants despite being mandatory, rooftop seasonally useful, and gym equating the cost of a gym facility membership. - Cost on the higher side considering space and amenities. - Garbage disposal and lobby (and amenities) only readily accessible from main building. - Cost of electricity and internet higher than average, in comparison to other, similar, apartment complexes.
Very good value in Hartford
I have lived int his building for almost 1 year and i think it is a great building for the center of Hartford. It is always clean, the amenities are well kept, and they do a good job of trying to make sure residents are comfortable! I hope to remain in this building for the next few years because of how enjoyable it is! Some of the downsides are more about the location than the building: it is very loud on the streets (sometimes makes it hard to sleep), lots of unhoused individuals on the street outside the building, and it would be good to have more parking (more than 1 spot per apartment and spots for guests). Other than these cons I really enjoy this building.
