Tamai Tower is the definition of urban apartment living! Located in the heart of LoDo, Tamai Tower is situated in Sakura Square, the center for Japanese and Buddhist cultures and home to the Cherry Blossom Festival here in Denver.
You'll be in the middle of all the downtown action, just blocks away from Coors Field and historic Larimer Square, and the views from the new sky lounge community room are some of the best in the city! Head downstairs for some delicious takeout at JJ Bistro or grab groceries at the Pacific Mercantile Company in the attached grocery/retail area.

This building also has a fitness center, laundry facilities, secured bike storage, reserved parking**, and extra storage available.

look elsewhere

I initially moved into Tamai Tower and everything was great, I’ve been here since April 2022. a couple of months go by and the elevator broke in June, understandable, 20 floors and a lot of people and they fixed it! cool, all is well and a week later, it breaks AGAIN and they claim “the parts have been ordered and maintenance has been scheduled” it’s now November and it’s yet to be fixed and the other elevator breaks once a month, leaving everyone on high floors to take the stairs or people who have strollers/bikes to try and get up and down stairs. It takes about 10-20 minutes just to get out of the building waiting on the elevator!! I have a newborn baby and a stroller, not all of us can just “use the stairs”! NONE of the laundry machines work, got an email in June saying they would ALL be replaced with newer/better washers and dryers by September 1st, it’s November and they’re still the same old, broken machines.. they couldn’t even fix ONE or slowly start replacing them? I couldn’t even tell you how many dollars I’ve put in the dryer to have my clothes still soaking WET when i go get them or water all over the floor from the washer leaking out. It takes about 15-20 minutes to get ANY hot water into the apartment or you go a week with only cold water and a week with only scorching hot water. Office administration does not respond/care to answer but they’re QUICK to give you a late fee or a yellow envelope saying “final warning” asking for rent when the building isn’t even maintained.. if you’re not using MY RENT MONEY to keep up with the amenities YOU promise, what’re you doing with it? so so greedy. It has just been one thing after another with this apartment and it is just NOT WORTH YOUR MONEY OR STRESS

SOLID CHOICE for affordable downtown living

I have lived in three units at Tamai Tower. I have really enjoyed my time here. I lived in a studio - which is small and basic but affordable. I lived in a two bedroom with a roommate - which was spacious and comfortable but the second bedroom was small. I now live in a one bedroom and I really love it. The price is unbeatable in downtown Denver! The parking is good - I have a garage spot that is covered and that is super convenient and also the rate is competitive for the downtown area. Guests can park at metered spots or there is a lot right next door that used to be $6 a night. Typical parking conundrums of downtown living. The location is amazing! Quick walk to groceries, 7/11, 16th St, restaurants and bars, etc. Super quick access to i25 and i70! The location of this building and its price are what sold it for me. I am someone who can be perfectly happy in an "older" apartment building. This building is older and so cannot boast all the amenities that other newer builds in the area can. BUT THE PRICE THOUGH! I decided to save money on rent, live at Tamai, and spend money on enjoying my life downtown. So, no dishwasher, but get yourself a great over-the-sink dish rack and you are all set! No washer/dryer in apartment - BUT THE LAUNDRY IS ON THE 20TH FLOOR which boasts BEAUTIFUL VIEWS OF DENVER. I miss having laundry in my apartment but I enjoy doing laundry in the quiet penthouse with breathtaking 360degree views of downtown Denver - you can see Coors Field, Union Station, the mountains, the city skyscrapers...everything! The building stays pretty clean, the maintenance staff ROCKS. The elevators are small but they have been working the entire time I have lived here so no complaints there. The tenants are a mixed bag - some older folks, some college aged kids, some young professionals, really quite a mix in this building. I was nervous the low price point would bring young and loud tenants but that has not been true of my experience there. Overall, I love Tamai!

My Time at Sakura

Lots of pros and cons. Location is great with a fair price. However the walls are paper thin people have dogs living here for months barking and nothing is done about it. The building being treated like garbage sometimes made it embarrassing to live there. I still enjoyed my time but i am happy the time has come to move on. All the best
