Mary and the maintenance crew are amazing!
I've been living at La Maisonette 6 mo. I heard a lot of bad things about Weidner before moving in, but tbh, Weidner has been great. Especially our new property mgr, Mary. She took over a couple months ago and has been so responsive and helpful. Also, maintenance requests are completed super fast! And the maintenance guys have all been lovely to chat with and take their time to address ALL your issues (even if they are on different work orders), and provide education on preventative things to keep things ship shape. The location at La Maisonette is stellar--so close to everything, I barely need my car. The only complaint is the parking lot is rather cramped (and even more difficult in the snow), and there is a LOT of street noise. But overall, it's a great, safe neighborhood and it's one of the better apartments I've seen since moving to Anchorage.

Stayed longer than intended.
I moved to Anchorage from out of state. I only meant to stay until I found a more long term residence. I ended up staying 3 1/2 years. The units could use a few upgrades but it worked out well for me. The on site manager has been amazing.

Need to Clean up Remnant's of Last Year's Fire
So far, I have had an ok experience at La Maisonette, but feel that, in its current state, my unit/the building is not worth the rent I am paying. The side yard outside my balcony is still covered with debris and ash from last summer's tragic fire. Additionally, many of the appliances / fixtures in my apartment are very old, worn or badly in need of update/replacement--toilet is too small for most adults to comfortably used (and I am not a big person), and the drawers throughout the apartment are comically small. Things I did not notice in my virtual tour / subsequent walkthrough of the apartment. I am not sure if I would have rented if I had known about the fire (something I learned through an online search after signing the lease), and the management's failure, thus far, to clean up the remnants of the fire. With all that said, the manager Samantha has been very pleasant, responsive and helpful to me.
