Jemtegaard Middle School Ratings & Reviews

Cannot wait for the new school to be finished this summer! I have a 6th grader who loves it here. His teachers are awesome and we couldn't be any happier. Negative reviews are just apart of our society now days. This school could be the best middle school in the U.S. but somebody will always find a way to criticize something. Great school and even better community!

It has been a great experience for us, we switched from Camas school district, and I must say I was nervous at first....but the teachers actually have more time for the kids, the classes are not over crowded, and the kids don't fall through the cracks with questions, or needing some extra help/time. My son does not have disabilities so I can not rate on the scale, over all..it was a better switch for us, and being that it is smaller everyone knows you,and your child!

Jemtegaard is a great school with a small town feel. My child loves her teachers, some more than others. Her teachers have all responded to my emails and been very helpful with any questions. My daughter doesn't like the age of the school or condition of equipment. We are excited for the new building to be finished for next year. This is a great school that respects family and family time.

Teachers are wonderful and communication with parents is commendable. Leanne Crouchley does an amazing job in the front office and is very helpful. My kids are new this year. They both like Jemtegaard better than their previous schools in Utah. We as parents appreciate the way the teachers don't overload the kids with homework. We like the visibility of the Principal and the way he has reached out to our kids already. We love the student body size. We are excited for the new building next fall and feel this will only enhance our feelings for the 'Jemtegaard experience.' We would recommend this school. It has a great small town feel and our kids are actually known by their names, they aren't just a number.

We moved to Washougal in December of 2013, and were concerned at the fact our 7th grader was in the Jemtegaard boundary due to the posts on Greatschools. However, we have pleasantly surprised. The school is not perfect, but there is definitely a change. They have a new principal with new ideas. There definitely are a couple of teachers our student had that I was less than impressed with, primarily with the lack of direction for the students and the lack of concern for children's grades. Despite these challenges, the school is better than average and our student will remain there next year. I believe that I, as a parent, could make the school better by getting more involved.
