Heavy teacher turnover in the past couple of years and declining enrollment has seriously hurt this school. See the negative review from 2013--things have gotten worse.

AMAZING SCHOOL Myself, My 5 children and currently grandchildren have had the privilege of attending Concordia Lutheran Schools. Private school tuition is a struggle but well worth the investment. As part of the Concordia family we have experienced nothing but love, growth, patience, and true support from the entire staff and the Director Al Hagen. As my family graduated to high school, and college they became successful in their ventures as leaders ! This is greatly because of the incredible foundation that has been laid both spiritually and academically at Concordia. As they furthered their education they excelled in sports, leadership, music, band, arts and academics again due to the excellent faith-based education given them at Concordia. Concordia campus is beautiful and I feel secure as it is next door to Tacoma Police Sub Station. It does take a village to raise a child and Concordia works with the family and student as part of a team. I highly recommend Concordia Lutheran School as they recognize each students unique gifts! Take a tour and you will feel the joy!

This is a great school! My kids have been attending Concordia Lutheran since pre-school and I would highly recommend this school for your kids education. They take each child's needs into consideration and give them a safe and nurturing environment in which to thrive. In addition to a computer lab, I-Pads in the room, they have added a Robotics program this year to encourage those interested in the Math and Sciences. An on-line foreign language curriculum was added this year, and both my kids are studying Spanish. For the arts, they start the kid in band at 4th grade and have them performing in plays and performances in which every kid plays a part. A majority of these kids, take these talents and perform at Concordia University in Portland, Oregon each year under the L.E.S.T program. For the athletes out there, they have flag football, cross country, volleyball, basketball, dance team, and track. If that's not enough to keep them busy, a newly formed Chess Club will keep them engaged while having fun learning the game. All of these opportunities are wrapped up in a Christ centered solid education.

My school has a great reputation and I couldn't agree more. The staff truly cares about the kids and teaches the basic values that seem to be missing from today's society. I never been to a school where every child is happy. I am at ease when my daughter is at school because she is not only getting a great education, she is safe. I recommend Concordia Lutheran School and will continue to send my daughter to school there.

We were a new family a couple of years ago and the teachers helped our kids to find others with similar interests. Our kids got involved in activities and do well academically. Their heads and hearts are filled. The teachers have helped to make sure they are challenged academically. Kids don't have to leave Jesus at home. There is a lot of parent involvement and teachers go beyond the classroom (coaching, refereeing, helping with the scoreboard, LEST). I really feel like the teachers love their jobs and do their best to help the kids succeed. Of course, Concordia isn't for everyone (no school is perfect), but check it out! It might be for you!
