I have had 2 kids graduate from Seattle Christian and are currently in a University studying in the sciences. They are very well prepared, especially in critically thinking with the sciences and in writing. The faculty here is very supportive and will go way beyond to help a student asking for help. The faculty in the fine arts are amazing and have developed award winning drama, choir and jazz band. The sacrifice to send my kids here was well worth the education they received.

My kids have attended since early elementary and we have experience at this school all though secondary. So we feel qualified to comment. This school has changed much since we entered. The academic rigor overall is subpar. Some teachers are great but there are far too many teachers that are not strong especially in secondary. Administration is a huge issue as leadership does not involve parents whatsoever regarding school changes or policy. The current leadership is actually the worst regarding allowing any form of parent input at all. Unfortunately there are many families discussing leaving the school. Enrollment at the school has been stagnant for a very long time. There is harassment that goes on that is not addressed. There are programs that are touted and sold to parents when they are looking into attending the school that are simply not what the school claims them to be. So do your research and make sure you asked to actually go see the ΓÇ£programsΓÇ¥ the school touts. Ask is it open to all kids or only a small group? Most of the textbooks are very old and the way kids are taught is not much different than school was taught 25 years ago when we were in school. The biggest change as of late is the admissions policy. At this point theyΓÇÖre pretty much letting anyone in because there does not seem to be a policy on admissions. Compare their website and the process to other Christian schools. If you truly want a Christian centered school that is discipleship, requires parents to profess faith in Christ and attend a church, has an interview process families go through and tests kids before they come in; then this is not a school you want to attend. Seattle Christian no longer does these things. In essence itΓÇÖs now kind of like paying for private public school. The current administration has stated publicly they need more of the seats filled and they have to change the admissions policy and how people pay for tuition to get seats filled to increase the budget. If youΓÇÖre paying full price for tuition youΓÇÖre basically now going to subsidize anyone who comes in and shows financial need only having to pay half the tuition. The elementary principal announced his voluntary resignation at the beginning of the school year and pulled out his own children and his assistant who has been there a long time suddenly announced her resignation. Very sad.

Academic levels are high and taught by caring capable teachers. I am impressed by their ability to teach our children spiritual values that extend beyond the Book into their behavior beyond the classroom. My children are in grades K,1 and 5.

After reading the others reviews, I have to concur that the school has gotten better. We were quite worried during our 1st year here. We think the teachers and staff are terrific and now we feel more comfortable. I hope it just continues to be what we would like it to be, and that is a great private Christian school.

My experience at this school has been great. It has a good variety of classes from AP classes to online classes. It also offers a lot of music, both instrumental and vocal with a great jazz band. It also has drama this year. There are lots of opportunities to play sports with many teams qualifying for state. The teachers are amazing and care deeply about their students, as does the administration and support staff. I've been here since kindergarten and deeply appreciate the education I've received. I'd strongly recommend this school.
